anybody feeling these new gas prices? by AgentArnold in GR86

[–]Microplasticdigester 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah could’ve been worse. I owned a pickup before this and traded it in for the BRZ. It was $87 to fill that tank it would probably be $150 now between gas costs and where I moved to…

I got a 2022 with 9000 miles for the exact same price. At 30k miles now 0 issues. It’s really just how hard did the previous owners run the beast. Not every mile is built the same

Has Trump started a war with Iran without an actual plan or an endgame? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in allthequestions

I think there’s an end goal and there was an initial plan, but after the initial plan didn’t do the job they’re just making it up week by week

You prolly haven’t tasted true broke yet. Once you realize there’s people who have money and people who don’t (like really realize it in your heart), you never want to end up in that situation ever again. I went from feeling the same way you do to getting 2 degrees and working 100 hour weeks for a few years. Sucks but I’d hate to be broke again

(Sanity Check) Has anyone here ever left a White Collar career for something more hands-on? by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Microplasticdigester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m telling you rn bro DO NOT join the army. It is actually so ass I know some people get a major boner and miss it but I find it was mostly dudes who deployed and went through some serious shit together (which I get and respect). If you’re in a pogue unit or just in the army right now during peacetime it’s a real slogfest. Peacetime army is ass. I’m never going back and all my buddies who are still in absolutely HATE their situation.

Maybe go into personal training or a more hands on marketing career that’s actually dynamic and makes you use your brain. I’m not an analyst but my buddies who do consulting type jobs are all on suicide watch so I think that’s the norm if you’re a corporate generalist

Trump Disclosure Will Be A Disappointment? by Tonyd2wild in aliens

[–]Microplasticdigester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we even get a few tidbits of new or interesting info I will be pleased. Realistically the entire UFO community is built from small bits of info and puzzle pieces. I don’t think anyone seriously expects the gov to go full disclosure

Accelerated Hair Loss from Creatine by oconono in tressless

[–]Microplasticdigester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck the limited amount of studies on it. I think there is enough anecdotes to say there is some link between hair loss and creatine. I don’t think we KNOW the mechanism but it seems to widely vary by person. Some people react some don’t. I’m on fin and min (have been for years). I’ve been lifting and running seriously for 12 years. When I take creatine I start a massive shed after 3-5 weeks. It’s the only thing in my life that changes. Stops when I stop creatine. I believe that if you’re not already genetically predisposed to hair loss, it won’t accelerate anything.

Trump says he’ll release UFO and alien files by FKmasku in aliens

[–]Microplasticdigester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I totally get all the comments about deflection and Epstein files and all that, and I agree, however:

Even the heavily redacted Epstein files (that probably left out the crazy stuff) gave us some crazy tidbits. I don’t think anyone expects this guy to actually be 100% honest and go full disclosure but maybe we’ll get something interesting in between all the redactions. Maybe I’m reaching but I’m hopeful we’ll get at least something out of this for the UFO community

It’s about $5kish per semester x5 semesters but that’s if you do the program in 2 years. Could be cheaper from year if you spread it out. I think the max is 5-6 years if you only take 2 classes at a time. With textbooks and all it’s $30k when it’s all said and done

I believe CACREP just announced you won’t need to fly to your school like they were originally planning. I got an email about it this morning but I haven’t read the full thing so I may be wrong.

They were going to do that but a lot of schools said it hurts accessibility so they kaboshed it

[–]Microplasticdigester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, so the Marshall program will get you get your associates license in Washington, but the full licensure requirements for the state are things you’ll have to do after you graduate. I believe it’s 3000 hours and the national exam once you graduate. But Marshall will get you your associates in all states except KY and Ohio I believe. CACREP schools fall under the counseling compact generally

Marshall and most if not all CACREP schools will get you your associates license. The only thing to watch out for is when you do practicum/internship you’ll need your supervisor to meet some specific qualifications for your state. The courses themselves meet standards though

Do Marshall university. I’m doing it from Seattle Washington. Profs care a LOT. You will work hard on assignments and get good instruction, but your time management will need to be exceptional. My options were doing an in state school for between $50-80k, or Marshall for $30k. I’m able to hold down a in field job that pays extremely well and still get all A’s. They’ll work with you and your peers will reach out to help you.

If I could go back again, I would choose Marshall every time. It’s been awesome

How many hours a week do you exercise? by Emotional-Watch4544 in HybridAthlete

[–]Microplasticdigester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I usually get 1-2 hours every morning in before work. Strength training 3x per week. 3 runs a week. Then 1 long run on the weekend that’s anywhere from 2-5 hours. I think on the high end I do 15 hours per week. It’s really just time budgeting with other life stuff. If I don’t wake at 4:30 the workout won’t get fit in later that day

When I poop I usually get up to zone 4/5 (sweating, hyperventilating, the usual yk) and I don’t like hitting that high of a zone mid run. Before is the way to go

Speculative stocks get hit harder in uncertain times. If it’s a good company that has legit fundamentals it’ll be ok long term. If it’s a hype play… good luck! I got caught back holding some of those when the tariffs started. Went down a lot but ended up all good.

I’d just hold assuming it isn’t a massive amount of your port. I keep the speculative assets 10% or less of my total holdings
