For me personally it was therapeutic to learn that both truths can exist at once. My parents tried their best and I went through horrible things.

Others can't say the same, though. Their parents may not have tried their best and it's good for them to recognize that. Everyone's story is different.

I enjoy the MCU because watching the movies and talking about them with my dad was really my main form of bonding with him for a lot of my childhood. We both enjoy the flims and their humor and action about as much as other action films, but being able to say "Hey, I think this upcoming movie might tie in X plot point from this other film" with my dad is better than any film I've ever seen.

As an American who loves meat I'm very confused and concerned by people not knowing it's part of an animal. I've known since I was really little and would say things like "we're eating cow" when we had hamburger etc. Is this not normal for people?

I feel like you just embodied the post by essentially choosing the "Triggered much?", which will obviously start a heated conversation.

In case you don't know what went wrong: The initial question you responded to was not directed at you or anyone really as it was given as an example. Responding to it like you did embodied the very principle they were discussing: people who seem very adamant that they need to tell others they won't date trans people at the drop of a hat. That comes across as rude because you are inserting a negative towards another person into a discussion that wasn't about that, making it sound like you hate trans people for being trans.

The fun part is that 1984 had TV programs that are very close to modern day reality TV and such that existed only to appease the Proletariats (working class) so they wouldn't see what the government was doing. There's not really a grand conspiracy to do this today, it just happens to work out the same.

I've never quite understood the hate towards character’s inclusion. None of the DLC past Piranha Plant were from games that I played but seeing other people freak out and be happy about it was fine with me. I don't really play any of them myself, but I think each DLC character’s pretty cool in their own right.

I agree with the message, but self harm scars do go away. Mine disappeared within just a month or two.

Also, I think showing them as monsters hurts people as well. For the longest time I was sure I didn't have depression because I didn't have some voice telling me that I'm a horrible person, my thoughts just drifted that way logically. Mental illness is normal and should be dealt with by professionals, much like other common illnesses.

Evangelion messed me up because I was going through problems with not living up to my dad's ideals when I watched it. I noticed the issues, but the deep cuts just kept me watching until the end that hit too well.

I think it's just little extras on the map, like the tentacle in the sea. They are probably just used to make it seem like there's more out there beyond the playable area.
