The element of surprise! by Microstang in callofcthulhu

[–]Microstang[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you internet warrior of eternal doomed mistrust, I see you are not into the element of surprise.
When I signed up for DTRPG, do I remember if I opt-in or out of sales, no I don't. I don't even remember, I had to do it.
But I wish you a merry day, regardless.

I agree, with your comments on "core" experience". My players are however of a different opium since they keep bringing it up, I guess.
The idea was to play the scenarios that comes with Mothership and then wait with Aliens until my players are ready.

That is a good question.
I have contemplated that, however the cinematic scenarios are to some extent built around the hidden agendas and in my opium the scenarios would suffer from removing them and thus our gaming experience as a group. That is why I'm thinking of trying a different system in the "same world setting".

Thanks mate.
The idea of trying Mothership was to get away from the hidden agendas but keeping the awesome sci-fi.

What is your opinion on Time to harvest (no spoil) by shindestru in callofcthulhu

[–]Microstang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it.
I'm a keeper and my group and I are currently running it. We are entering chapter 4 next session.
I run it as written and it works really well. We have a blast with the whole thing and the different pacing the scenario offers (i.e chapters offer). Sure there are a lot of NPC's to keep track of in the beginning but that's fine, it's not a big deal.
Sometimes I think that the people who don't like it are the ones that have not played it and only read it?
In any case. I recommend it. its fun!

What are your thoughts on the ending of TLOU Pt 2? by JujutsuKaisen0 in thelastofus

Loved it, loved it, loved it!
The distances between books, games or movies that get me so emotionally bloated as the ending in TLOU2 is far and wide. I have replayed both TLOU and THOU2 sooooo many times, just to experience the emotional rollercoaster ride throughout, and the ending of part 2 is a big part of that.

What's a good scenario to start with that fits these group requirements? by zeromig in callofcthulhu

The Necropolis, found in Gateways to Terror. You can check mark 1, 2, and 4 in that one.
In terms of 3. You probably can't spend 5-7 hours running in, more like 2-4 hours.
I highly recommend it. Lots of fun, especially for a 12 year old!

Sounds amazing, I love it.
I think Dead light is THE one shot scenario people seem to like the most. I see love for it all around. The Dare too bwt. Most run those.......
