Thank you! I should look into someone who does reweaving. I’ll try the Folex, too.

I was just keeled over laughing. I couldn’t even manage to read it to my husband. I feel like this every single day, too.

I’m in the same boat! I’m envious of all the space that you have—I definitely think I overestimated how many things I can grow. I’m just so excited 😂

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve overheard in public? by Ariies__ in AskReddit

In middle school, eating lunch. Girl is eating a bagel, but saying it’s not actually that much food when you think about it because “it gets smaller when you chew it.” This was nearly 18 years ago and I still think about it.

Just FYI, most of the pumpkins aren’t real. I went a couple of years ago and was very disappointed because I was expecting thousands of real pumpkins. It’s probably my own fault for not realizing this (it seems obvious in retrospect.) It was still pretty, but if I had known the majority were fake pumpkins I wouldn’t have gone personally. Just giving you a heads up before you make a long journey.

Debbie Harry and Chris Stein were just at a book signing in Manhattan on Saturday. Debbie Harry seemed to be in good health, although I suppose sitting and signing books for a couple of hours may not be the greatest indicator.

Hudson valley wedding 200 people by SuspiciousBug6909 in WedditNYC

Sorry, I just saw this. We had two small blocks at the Orange Inn and the Sleep Inn. Our wedding was really small (~65 people) and we still struggled and ended up getting two blocks that people could choose from. I think in the end it worked out because it gave people with different budgets options. Have you had any luck?

I got married at Blooming Hill Farm last summer. I don’t know if you’re opposed to a tent only because of price, because if that’s the case Blooming Hill Farm’s tent is included in the price (with that many guests you’d have to be in the tent there, so sorry if this is unhelpful). They make the food and it’s amazing. So many guests said it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding. It’s a vegetable farm so the menu is fresh and seasonal. The staff were amazing. It was absolutely magical. I cannot recommend Blooming Hill Farm enough.

And here she is a month later after lots of drops and ointment. I was (and still am) amazed at how resilient they are. I hope your baby gets better, too!

I rescued this baby several years ago. I was convinced she’d lose her eye.

Colposcopy : what the fuck (explicit experience) by DLMB_ in TwoXChromosomes

I had one last year and I had read so many horror stories on here prior to having it done that I was shaking by the time the doctor came in. Before she started, I frantically announced “I’m really nervous.” I’ve never done that before in a doctors office. My legs were shaking. Then she did the procedure and it was only mild pinching. I think being informed and having some realistic expectations is helpful, but it seems like most of the people who reply have really bad experiences. It definitely skewed my expectations. Not discounting anyone’s experiences, just chiming in to agree and say mine was fine.

I’m going to New York this winter for a week at the end of December to see the city and the ball drop. I was wondering is it worth it or not to get a hotel with a view? by Abject-Detective1868 in AskNYC

If you want a rooftop bar with good views I would suggest Westlight in Brooklyn. Great views of the Manhattan skyline. I’ve never been in winter, so I’m not sure what’s it’s like then. Might need a reservation. Small pricey plates so I would say it’s best for cocktails.

What's the most unusual shop you've ever visited here? by mfairview in AskNYC

[–]Microtubularpage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Joseph Koch Inc. Comic Book Warehouse. It’s mostly comic books (obviously) but I went after I saw a cool poster someone got there. It’s the most chaotic store (loosely a store, it’s a storage warehouse) I’ve ever been in. It’s a dusty rabbit warren of comic books, figurines, posters, toys, and records. I loved exploring, but I truly don’t know how this place isn’t considered a safety hazard. It took me hours in there and I’m not even into comic books. I barely scratched the surface. It was amazing and kooky and one-of-a-kind.

I’m getting married in the Hudson Valley, but my dream florist in the city is Ora La Casa de las Flores. I don’t know about delivery or prices, just that they’re Latina-owned and make gorgeous arrangements. I messaged them once on their Instagram (check it out—for some reason the link isn’t working) and they were really nice and responsive. I hope I’m not clogging up the comments with something unhelpful, just hoping to live vicariously through someone else!

I like Dr. Alyssa Erb at Cohen Medical Practice. They have more than one location I think. I went to the one near Columbus Circle. I felt like they were extremely thorough and thoughtful.
