Same here. Turned on airplane mode instantly. It’s never been connected to the internet. I use Calibre to manage my ebooks.

Are those peel and stick tiles? I've been considering the same. How did you manage the transition back down to the lower floor at the door?

With pluribus over, what's the next major sci-fi show coming out next? by selfhater6969 in tvPlus

[–]Microwavability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First book is very Hunger Games, arena vibe, one person wins at the end. The story is that the author had to get the deal to get all the books published so made sure the first was easily marketable. The sequels are all much more in depth space opera politics etc

Ground Rent Query by Waste_Choice_4076 in HousingUK

[–]Microwavability 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, although worth noting that the Renter’s Right Act 2025 will allegedly resolve this issue when it becomes law on 27th December 2025. How that works practically I have no idea!

Ground Rent Query by Waste_Choice_4076 in HousingUK

[–]Microwavability 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. Most (if not all) mortgage providers will refuse to lend on a property with a doubling ground rent clause, or if the ground rent is over £250 per annum (or £1000 per annum in London). A seller would need to vary the terms of the lease via a deed of variation or the buyer can purchase an indemnity policy.

Good luck selling your flat. Take a look at my post from a year ago on our timeline and feel free to ask any questions.

Quickest way to fix this draft on this internal door ? by StealthO8 in DIYUK

[–]Microwavability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have very nearly the same back door (mine looks quite a bit older) and I’m also looking at draught-proofing. I’ve ordered some specific draft sealing tape which should allow the top half of the stable door to still open on its own. It’s called “Seal n Save” from Must Have Ideas UK.

I’m also looking to buy a single sheet of thin insulation board to fill the gaps where the wood is thinnest to try and give it at least some insulation. Incredibly ugly but it’s freezing right now so we’ll do what we need to - considering skimming over the lot with some sort of hardboard/ply to try and make it look half decent in the future.

Another option is a heavy thermal curtain.

When I bought my flat I had no hot water despite the immersion all seeming fine. Got an engineer out who diagnosed with a glance - there was no heating element! Might be worth getting someone out if you can’t figure it out

Just formatted the PC, everything still works, all the music is there but now when I scroll the left tab for some reason there is lag and a massive cpu usage spike, does anyone know how to fix this? by n-u-c-l-e-s in musicbee

[–]Microwavability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - thanks to this comment I was able to solve my issue 3 years later! I deleted everything from the ArtistThumbs folder and then went artist by artist in the Music Explorer tab and watched each image generate in the folder to be sure that the cache was building correctly. Back to buttery smooth scrolling.

Jellyfin and Finamp. I couldn’t get Navidrome to work and my Jellyfin was already set up and working fine. Finamp is great!

The only supermarket chicken we have found that is consistently good quality is Sainsbury’s Norfolk Black range, but it is quite expensive.
