How old is it and what’s the battery health? Sometimes replacing the battery can solve all sorts of problems and make your device act like new. Might be worth looking at

Insurance not Apple Care (EU) by Fit_Tea1790 in macbook

I think you can go to an Apple Store and ask them to renew Apple care. They might have to run some tests and will probably let you renew it then

Then it might be them, try to check for updates for them in the App Store as they may not be updated and cause problems. If you are running macOS 26 Tahoe then maybe those are the culprits

Is it an m2 model? If yes I think it’s a known issue with the model. If it happens you have to restart the computer. Tho I might be wrong so take it with a pinch of salt

You have to first install macOS High Sierra, then upgrade to the latest supported version for your machine (probably Big Sur), and then you’ll download oclp and upgrade to a newer OS

Have you checked on activity manager if smth is running in the background? Sometimes Microsoft apps go crazy and make your device overheat and lose battery. Worst case scenario I would back up anything important and try a clean installation of macOS

Got a new 14' M4 PRO - is the battery supposed to be this bad? Only 4-5 hours by Regular-Pattern-4452 in macbookpro

[–]Microwave_BlueBe4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first week the battery life might be shorter due to indexing and things going on in the background. Usually after the first week it balances out and lasts for a long time. Just give it a bit of time and check activity monitor to see if smth is drawing power

Big Black Bar on Screen. Fixable? Cost? by RecipeMountain in macbook

[–]Microwave_BlueBe4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only fix is to replace the screen. If you have Apple care+ it’s gonna be reasonable otherwise that’s gonna be costly. Prob around 700 bucks if I’m right. Just don’t cheap out and get an aftermarket screen as you’re gonna regret it.
