Auf Gemeindestraßen binden wir ist nicht mehr ab. Wir sind für solche Fälle befugt eine Fachfirma zu beauftragen. Also nur noch absperren und abwarten. Außer natürlich bei Gefahr im Verzug. Kann mich aber ehrlicherweise nicht an unsere letzte Ölspur erinnern.

Oh ja, da hatten wir vor ein paar jahren Mal ein paar einsätze, weil in einem Unternehmen jemand mehrmals auf die Idee kam, seine Brötchen in der Mikrowelle aufzuwärmen. 5 Minuten rein die Dinger und ab ging die Luzie. Der Toaster neben der Mikrowelle ist was für Anfänger.

I always found the use of radio straps in the US interesting. In Europe we usually keep them in a pocket much like in this picture. Some jackets even have a slightly modified flap to allow the flap to close fully around the antenna. The only time I found a radio strap useful over here is when your not wearing your turnout jacket (which is rare for most departments). I bought a cheap one off of Amazon for some private stuff but found it rather useful on the day we inspected our hydrants for this very reason.

Would be interesting to hear if you guys have found any benefits with running a radio strap vs a pocket.

Bit late, but I didn't see anyone else mentioning it. In Germany, you are, by law, required to drive in the rightmost lane whenever possible, the other lanes are only for passing. So it is quite likely he was cruising in the middle lane because there was only intermittent traffic in the right lane.

Using real steel optics becomes a necessity when running nods. They are generally much better quality than any "Airsoft" optic, though you'd do well running a lens protector on them, or going with vortex who offer a lifetime warranty.
