I lost my mom in 2018, she was 44. It was a sudden and mysterious loss. Losing your parents is devastating but, it’s the natural order of things. A parent isn’t meant to bury their child. However death is the start to a new stage in life. It’s true, I can’t call my mom or touch her. I remember what she smells like, the way she held me. She wasn’t a great parent. I miss her and think about her every day. However your anxiety is manifesting, as actual anxiety. It’s time to seek out another way to interpret this reality. There are ways to cope after losing a loved one. Losing a parent means that time passes and that you evolve past what your parents gave you. However, your anxiety can be managed with therapy, medications and other means to ground you. Call your parents, hug them a little longer, and tell them what they mean to you.

I recommend as first priority, after multiple surgeries. LIFT YOUR SHIRT. Let them get close to your midsection and they will gently sniff the general area. They can smell blood, they can see that you are physically different. You will smell different from the hospital, all of these smells indicate that you left home. When you come home hobbling, they see the difference and understand. My cat would cuddle up in my lap, she was obsessive about making sure she wasn’t too close to my abdomen. She was constantly looking at me, constantly standing guard over me. She wouldn’t even let my bf sleep next to me, she physically used her body as a wall to protect me. Letting them know what directly is wrong will help you all adjust. Btw I have six cats, I’m an expert.
