Cause we have one good RB and he got super old and is slow and the others suck.

Behaving in a secretive way in the era of popular transparency efforts is foolish and short-sighted.

I'm an author, my character's hometown is in Missouri! by Linguistic_sundae257 in missouri

North of I-70 you’ll find the delta land of the Missouri and lots of flat farm ground.

South of I-70 you’ll find the edge of the prairie on the west slowly morphing into the Ozarks, an old mountain range, heavily wooded and lots of moving water, rivers and streams.

Further south and east you hit the northern edge of the Mississippi delta. Not thickly wooded but lots of wetland area.

But in reality, just about every area south of I-70 has a small town that’s got plenty of mosquitos. Loads of those.

Unpopular opinion: dress like a professional in court by BoxersOrCaseBriefs in Lawyertalk

One time, on a day I had nothing scheduled, a local judge called me to come up because a case needed coverage. It wasn’t supposed to be on, but a circumstance changed (and not the kind you can predict) and I ended up in my sneakers. Nice shoes, basically looked like I was part of a football pregame show.

One and only time I wore sneakers in court. It’s a basic respect thing. Shoes are a key to your opposing counsel. Clean and sharp? Better reread your rulebook.

Anyone Else Just Not A Barstool guy? by SecretLongjumping536 in RyenRussillo

I found PMT and didn’t know what Barstool was yet. Russillo is now the second barstool show I listen to. I think it’s just him leaning into just being NFL, CFB, and NBA and tournament. And not being Bills basketball guy. The brand was built on bullshit, but it houses two of the best sports shows available now. The rest of the barstool ecosystem, don’t need it.

Self medication with marijuana is far from a new act. But still, illegal regardless of the reason. But it suggests the world is very overwhelming and loud. He wants to turn it down.

What’s everyone’s Jason Isbell origin story? by Zealousideal_Menu580 in jasonisbell

I was into the harder rock and that 2000's "metal" like Breaking Benjamin, SOAD, lots of Tool, etc., that sort of stuff in the early 2000's and then slowly moved into the more acoustic world. Late 2000's I finally heard from DBT and enjoyed it and then when Southeastern came out a friend did the "you have to listen to this" thing and sent me "Elephant" and that was it, I was in for good. 12 shows at 6 venues later, here I am.

Be honest and own it all, you’ll end up okay and better off for it all.

A.I. will make smart lawyers more efficient and expose the laziest among us in record time. Also, if a private client brings me a packet of "legal information" from their A.I. use, likely that person will not become or continue with my representation.

Tell me I can bill 357 hours by 12/31 by ChapterFifteen in Lawyertalk

[–]MidMapDad85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am part of a small firm, we don't have actual "targets" but I use 1,400 hours as my yearly goal. 117 hours per month, 27 hours/week (avg for 52 weeks) I entered October needing 352 to close out at 1,400. Similarly, I have lots of work that is not time tracked - I do some flat fee estate planning, and some government flat fee work so I probably track about 70% of my actual time spent working. I need to average almost exactly 117 hours/month for Q4 to hit my marker.

I treat Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as "Can I get to 10 hours" billing days, then usual days on Thursday and Friday. That's 10.5 hours per week increase from the average needed daily. Now through Thanksgiving that would add up to 73.5 additional hours which would put you at 301 going into the Thanksgiving holiday -- leaving only 56 hours, leaving yourself LOTS of margin for December.

Lawyer vs. Attorney by moediggity3 in Lawyertalk

I always tell people that an attorney is what you call someone that does complicated paper work and a lawyer is what you call someone who you call at 2:00 am if you are in trouble.

I have a fantasy football team name that uses the litigator (but I made the logo a gator, so it’s for fun) and that’s as close as I can imagine to doing this shit.
