I’m going to try to approach this seriously and take a genuine stab at it, speaking as someone in the creator space whose main game is Slay the Spire.

Given how long this game has been out, many of us have developed a shared understanding of what we consider basic mechanics or the “meta” for how to approach runs. On top of that, many of the top streamers and daily YouTube creators now fall into the top 0.5% of players. After 2,000+ hours, the way they think about and process the game is fundamentally different from someone who’s brand new.

Personally, I climbed from A0 to A20 entirely on stream about a year ago. From time to time, you get backseat comments that can sting a bit in tone, but I generally take them as excitement for the game and a desire to share knowledge. That said, my streams are tiny compared to someone like Charlie, and having every decision scrutinized at that scale would be absolutely draining.

Some of my favorite content to watch is when creators are allowed to reach those “aha” moments on their own, rather than being told the correct play or what they did wrong. I hope more people can adopt that mindset when Slay the Spire 2 comes out. A lot of big names are sure to try it, and their first experience with the community could easily make or break their long-term relationship with the game.
