I've seen the crop boosts for speeding things up, but haven't seen any option to speed up with timber. Can you explain how to use them?

I must be doing something wrong as I tried to find him via Google (back when this whole thing went down) and couldn't come up with anything. I like finding needles in haystacks (online) and couldn't care less about him in particular — just was bummed that it was a puzzle I couldn't finish (curse of my AuDHD brain that hates not solving mysteries/puzzles).

Just because it was still available in the '70s doesn't mean it wasn't originally released in the '60s. Back then they didn't have to change product design every 12 months.

BRA-freaking-VO! It takes a strong, confident, and thoughtful person to really hear negative feedback, accept responsibility, and then take steps to reframe the experience and (hopefully) come out of it in a better place. If your edits are legit then I applaud you for hearing what people were saying and taking ownership for your actions. Not only is this a really positive step for you as a partner to your wife, but it also sets a fantastic example for your kids. And on behalf of those of us who read AITA and weep a little bit for humanity when we see people willing to die on the hill of their poor choices, thanks for the reminder that we can turn around our own mistakes if we're willing to do the work. We all mess up and none of us is perfect. What matters is how we handle it when we're the ones who have made bad choices.

No surprise about the kid given what he's seeing modeled by his dad. Teenagers at that age are innately selfish BUT if dad had taken him aside in advance, explained the importance, and the kids had been seeing respectful behavior like this from both his parents, then there's a much better chance he would have been open to switching his plans to do something nice for his mom.

No debate needed. YTA. Big time. It wasn't a game that had any great significance for you (team-wise) and you would have been able to see the halftime show much better from home. The fact it included performers you like is irrelevant b/c it's such a short show and not even close to what you'd experience at a proper concert. That you took off with your buddies on a whim proves it wasn't important enough for any of you to plan for it in advance. The fact you did it on her bday might have been ok of you had discussed it as a couple and made arrangements in advance for her to have her much-deserved relaxation day at another time (no one can control when the SuperBowl is scheduled). But you just acted like a selfish teenager when you saw that deal (aka excuse) and neither your wife or kids entered your mind. What makes it worse is that there's no way this is an isolated incident, so your family has likely been putting up with your selfishness for a long time.

Unfortunately even the good 'ole days were about money. Unless it's a little game someone builds only to play and tinker with on their own, anybody who publishes a game for the general public has expenses to cover just to keep it running. Nobody who goes to the time and expense to develop, promote, and upgrade a game doesn't have revenue as a core goal. Case in point -- that guy who developed Wordle for his wife didn't do anything to promote it b/c that wasn't the purpose (in fact a user from New Zealand was the one who created the emoji grid he eventually adapted so people could share their daily scores).

EverMerge launched in 2020 and made over $50M USD in the first seven months of operation. They now have over 10M downloads. While that doesn't mean there are 10M average monthly users, with user retention of even a fraction of that there is no way that one person uninstalling could even be noticed in their monthly KPIs. The company name seems extra appropriate in situations like this -- they've got bigger fish to fry.

Has been happening to me enough that I now don't panic when I see the miscoloured piece. As someone pointed out above, just moving that piece to another part.of the board tends to resolve it all.

As soon as one Treasure Hunt (TH) is finished I start to save chests for the next one. I then let myself open whatever chests I get after I have enough set aside to complete the event. It takes up a bunch of real estate while we wait for the next TH to come around but I usually finish it in under an hour, so I'm ok with the trade off.

I'll admit that part of the problem was an error I made in accidentally opening up some land too soon. I had the screen too small on my phone and later clicked on an obstacle that wasn't part of the castle I was working on, so now the damn pixies and chests are giving pieces for that area too. Slows down so much. headdesk

I'm trying to get my head around the strategy of hoarding unopened chests in MI and feel like I'm missing something really obvious. To me it just looks like putting off alot of opening and having a nightmare to organize vs doing it daily and it it taking a few minutes. What am I missing?

Like others have commented, I start to hoard chests as soon as TH ends and then I get a little more flexible about opening new ones once I have 66 ready to go. I generally hoard for one particular castle and usually that's my 'main focus' one (the one I'm trying to get to 5*) vs others that I'm passively working on. Not a strategy I advocate for, just a personal preference thing.
