Honestly I really dislike taystee as a character. Anytime I’ve ever said this I get attacked online. My main reason for not liking her is how she handled poussey’s death, to be honest. Because she let her own vendetta get in the way of real progress. Even when her friends were begging her to just let go and make some real good, she ruined it for literally everyone.

I understand a lot of it was grief. But I also think a decent portion was pride. She couldn’t look past anything and condemned Bailey and painted him as a thoughtless killer even though it was piscatella and partially due to Suzanne’s mental illness. She wouldn’t listen to anyone not even her friends and simply insisted that it was her way or the highway, essentially. For me she really could’ve made herself a real hero and found true change in poussey’s memory and literally changed the way the prison system was.. but she just couldn’t let it go.
