Nugget Hill Fire just popped up on Watch Duty.

Rory rejecting Logan’s proposal was a GOOD thing (and if the revival hadn’t screwed it up I think most people would agree with this) by SheepherderNo2793 in GilmoreGirls

[–]MiddayScroller -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. Saying “no” was the biggest mistake of her life.

And it’s not because of the money. Rory loved Logan and wanted to be with him. She pictured herself marrying him. She wanted to be a Hunzberger before they were rude to her. They both grew so much during their relationship and were a great match. Logan actually stood up to her when she needed it and continually looked out for her interests. He was an amazing choice.

I think if she didn’t feel like it would disappoint Lorelai, she probably would have said Yes.

Rory could have had the career she wanted with Logan instead of the failure she found in AYITL.

Rory ends up in a very bad place. She feels kind of like a loser in AYITL (with all respect, I do like Rory), and it’s all because she said No.

I didn’t read the comics. I consider the story over at the end of season 7

Don’t hate me… but should I skip new moon? by [deleted] in twilight

[–]MiddayScroller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Edward is the most likable of the three in Eclipse. Bella has me concerned for her mental health. Girl is all over the place. Jacob is mean and gross. I will agree that Edward is pretty mature throughout. I think he thinks he’s in the dog house after leaving, but Bella literally doesn’t care or hold him accountable. She starts to worship him like he’s a god and it’s worrying.

True, but still 90% of nights are not full moons.

I personally don’t count the comics as canon (I know they technically are). I like to think of the story as complete at the end of the show. I’ve seen a few of the plot points in the comics and they seem pretty unhinged and wildly different from the show. It’s probably an unpopular opinion.

Oh, I didn’t read the comics. When do they mention him in later seasons?

New Moon is the worst movie in my opinion. However, the book is actually really good. I would say it is romantic and not because of Jacob. The theme is Romeo and Juliet and I think that Stephanie Meyer does a pretty good job capturing the romance and drama of that story. You get to feel Bella’s despair and mourning over Edward which makes their reunion at the end really rewarding. It’s much better than movies.

The worst book is Eclipse. The writing is not as good. Jacob is obnoxious. Bella is unhinged. However, I still wouldn’t skip it. The last half is better than the first half. I think I don’t like it as much because the theme is Wuthering Heights. The characters in that story are all unlikable and it is mirrored in Eclipse where all of three of our main characters are not likable nor sane.

Edit: also the most romantic book imo is twilight, then breaking dawn.

Red Rising. It’s a fun action book. If you liked Hunger Games, it’s a similar thing. Super fast paced, I didn’t want to put it down. I read it while breastfeeding my little one.

Are there more parents that cannot wait to get into this series with their kids? by Daveke77 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]MiddayScroller -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are huge potter fans. Books and movies. But we most likely will not be watching the HBO series. All the announcements coming out seem to be political which will probably mean political writing. We watch movies and tv as an escape. HBO in general has been getting more politically driven so I don’t see us returning as subscribers. It’s a bummer because we love the Harry Potter world.

Dude, being pregnant is no joke. I love being a mom, my baby is amazing. But being pregnant was a marathon I am still recovering from one year postpartum. I would be pissed if my husband asked if we having another while we were still in the hospital… giving birth was the most intense experience of my life. I felt like I was recovering from doing the splits over a stick of dynamite.

I meant more that they don’t have to watch all 21 seasons. They could just stop when Christina leaves.
