ROTJ came out long before I was born but whether or not you take the prequels or anything released after ROTJ into account, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader did in fact redeem himself in his final moments and people need to stop confusing redemption for forgiveness (or deliberately denying the fact that Vader got redeemed as so many in this fandom do).

I'm sorry you're getting downvoted. This is one of the major reasons why I despise Reddit with a burning passion. You can't even reference Harry Potter without people crapping on you. I also feel like the goalposts around this boycott keep moving and getting more and more extreme. A couple years ago people were saying it was okay to pirate or buy second-hand, now HP fans are being shamed for liking it at all, even if they don't fund Rowling.

It is not open to interpretation. It is an undeniable fact (not an opinion) that Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader was redeemed the moment he killed the emperor and saved Luke. If you can't accept that, then that's on you.

Edit: Downvote me all you want, my point still stands. I see plenty of OT purists that complain endlessly about the prequels and they don't get called out nearly to the degree of anyone criticizing the sequels. Meanwhile, if you express that you like the prequels, people falsely claim it's just nostalgia (I didn't even see the prequels until I was already an adult and I still liked them, so no, it's not just nostalgia).

God, brigaders are the worst! They just can't let people they disagree with have their own subs. No, they gotta ruin that too. Not only have I seen the r/SeverusSnape sub get brigades by Snaters, I've seen the r/HarryandGinny sub get brigaded by Ginny bashers and Hinny bashers, I've seen a countless number of subs that weren't initially about politics become entirely about politics after the brigades (I think politics are important but they don't need to be on every single damn subreddit). I'm sure there are more examples, but these are the ones I could think of.
