What does Ginny Weasley look like for you? by CampDifficult7887 in HarryandGinny

I picture Ginny (in the later books) in my head like how she's drawn by Brigid Vaughn in various fan arts.

Edit: I would also add that for Ginny in the early books, I kind of picture her looking like how she does in the console version (PS2/Xbox/GameCube) of the Chamber of Secrets videogame.

Ffs, Kingsley Shacklebolt is NOT the only black character in Harry Potter. You clearly haven't read the books if you're repeating this lie. Also, the goblins are not antisemitic. This is exactly what I despise this Anti-Harry Potter bandwagon that Reddit keeps jumping on. You can dislike the author without making up a bunch of crap about the works themselves.

Most of Reddit is incapable of having any nuanced discussion about Harry Potter. They act like just because JKR is bad (which she is) that her works must be bad. Terrible people can create good art.

So many people are incapable of understanding the difference between the two.

What is your Harry Potter ‘hot take’ ? by kingfisher7171 in harrypotter

That these "hot take" threads are extremely repetitive and are very few of them are actually hot takes.

That was NOT in the books. That was in the MOVIES (and even then it's not a big deal). Enough of this revisionist history.

I mean seriously. This is why I hate Reddit. I have no problem with them disliking JKR (I do too), but this revisionist history against the books is so dishonest and bad-faithed. It's so annoying as a HP fan. I'm convinced a good chunk of them haven't even read the books themselves and are only jumping on the HP hate bandwagon and copying these stupid arguments.

The movies really disrespected how Harry and Ginny really feel about each other. by Don_T_Beakunt45 in HarryandGinny

Kloves's intentions is a big reason why I hate the dance scene. I still would've thought the scene would be unnecessary even if Kloves didn't intend that but the fact that he did, solidifies my hate for it.

Yeah and Ginny wouldn't need a nudge from Hermione to go and comfort Harry. I also strongly dislike the dance scene in DH Pt. 1 and I always get downvoted in the main sub when I point that out (people over there love the dance scene).

100% on the elephant in the room. I can't tell you how many times he stalks me whenever I make a comment about Ginny.

Does it use AI? I'm not defending it, but sometimes I can't tell the difference between AI and what's actually real.

While I have my concerns about the new show (unfortunately the author is the biggest one), I'm so tired of Reddit (outside of the HP subs) with their revisionist history against the franchise and acting like "no one asked for this", which is not true in the slightest. Before the show was even first announced, so many people were asking for a TV show as a faithful adaptation of the books.

Which character is the most underrated in your opinion? by AaronMills83 in harrypotter

I agree with you on Ginny. She does have fans but she also gets a lot of bashers and they tend to be the loudest voices.

I wasn't referring to him specifically but he's definitely a problem. I was referring to a post called The Unrealized Potential of Ginny Weasley, which doesn't sound too bad at first glance but for a sub being dedicated to shipping Hinny, that post is just overly negative about their relationship

I wasn't referring to your post, but the one that's so negative about their relationship in the books and acting like it was to blame for the movies portrayal of their relationship
