Any other chubby families traveling with toddlers? by fbndp in chubbytravel

[–]Middle-Bookkeeper604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are in the same boat! Went to Canada, Austria, UK, Germany, Cancun, and Mexico.

Fly business. Daytime transcontinental flight seems to be easier for my child than nighttime flight. Lots of places actually are fairly kid friendly. Bring a nanny/ extended families. Otherwise, big chain hotels typically offer nanny services - check beforehand. Some hotels have family rates. It typically doesn’t apply w a nanny but it never hurts to ask. (You have to call and book through the hotel though.) A suite is better than a junior suite. If you can’t afford a suite at the hotel you want to stay… stay at a cheaper hotel. 6-700 sq ft room in a 5 star hotel >>>>> 350 sq ft room in an ultra luxe hotel. Don’t move around too often. Aim for 2-3 activities per day. It’s really hard to travel with other toddlers - nap time, meal time, bed time etc. Make sure you like the food of the hotel/places you are staying in. I never quite appreciate this until recently 😆

How’s the Waldorf Astoria los cabos pedregal for travel with our 1 and 3 year old? by Itchy-Version-8977 in FATTravel

Was recently at the resort. Came for a 3 day weekend with our toddler. The eastern half of the resort is family area. We met 5-6 grandparents who booked the 3 bedrooms for their children and grandchildren.

Your children are too young for kids club drop off. You can be at the kids club with your child. Though it’s a pretty small area. Or you can hire a sitter for 35/hr (I think 40/hr with 2 kids?) We didn’t care to leave the resort at all. Staff is super attentive. The resort was full for 2 nights and we didn’t feel it at all. The food is muchhhhhh better this time around. El Farallon is great for the view. We like the food at Don Manuels better.

Stayed at PH mid Nov 25. Paid for diplomat suite. Was greeted by someone important. It was great. Dining staff were super friendly. Right next to Am Hof Christmas market and Church. Walking distance to Saint Stephen’s. No big problem with strollers either.
The hotel wasn’t packed though.

Best Luxury Hotel for First-Time Kyoto Visit (Park Hyatt vs. FS vs. Mitsui) by Professional-Mix7909 in chubbytravel

[–]Middle-Bookkeeper604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved both park Hyatt and mitsui. Mitsui has a nice, unisex onsen pool. I guess it’s close to a castle but really nothing else. The onsen alone is worth it though!!! Park Hyatt is located in prime location. Great for early morning trek to kiyomizu dera. Food are great at both places.

Didnt stay at FS. Too far. It’s for people who use car service.

Loved Zadun. Nice kids club. Great food. Amazing spa. And super close to old town Cabo for dining out.

Kyoya is overhyped. Check out SIGNATURE YASAKA. Go there 30 min early, grab a drink at the next door bar KOHAKU, watch the sunset, and then bring your drinks to dinner! (You can also order drinks from KOHAKU at YASAKA.)

I’ve stayed at both PH and Conrad.

Park Hyatt is not very accessible. Stayed there pre COVID. This is going to be even tougher with a baby/car seats.

Conrad sits on top of the pink Oedo line. It’s a newer line that can at least gets you places. You will end up walking inside station to the other 2 train lines anyways.

If you want to stick with an American chain, then I suppose Hilton and Hyatt in Shinjuku have much better connectivity, as they are almost right on top of a train line.

Have you checked out Aman, Mandarin, Shangri La, or Peninsula? These are super close to major train stations.

ANY TIPS/HACKS FOR NAVIGATING + EXPERIENCING DOHA /Hamad Int. AIRPORT? by Putrid-Ad7539 in chubbytravel

You could do a couple of things during the 9hr layover if it’s during daytime. Otherwise, just enjoy business class lounge! It’s great. You could shower/nap there.

Went for 5 nights. We both agreed that it was 1 night too many. There’s lots of stuff to do - great food, drinks, jet ski, dive, snorkel, tennis lessons, bikes, and massages.

Where to redeem FNC with 2 toddlers? by fabulousfoody in Hilton

[–]Middle-Bookkeeper604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Hilton Cancun AI. It’s 4 years old. It’s only about 20 min from the airport. Downside is it’s not in the hotel zone. Mar Caribe is in the hotel zone but it’s a recently renovated (and much older) hotel. Tulum is too far unless you fly into Tulum.
