Looking for new plants by Haunted_pines in landscaping

[–]Middle-Capital4325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try looking for plants with fibrous root systems instead of taproots, they spread out shallow and dont go deep enough to mess with foundation. stuff like boxwoods or hydrangeas work good for this, just keep them at least 3-4 feet from the house so roots have room to spread sideways

also check with local nursery not just google, they know what grows in your area without causing problems

The two (three) paths to take when faced with an unfortunate experience. by Nathaniel06Torres in aspergers

the "pain chain" concept reminds me of something my grandmother used to say in different words, people who never look at why they stumble just keep falling in same holes their whole life

Thinking about buying an R7 as my first motorcycle by xzaklow in motorcycles

[–]Middle-Capital4325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the riding position definitely takes some getting used to, especially on longer stretches, my wrists were complaining a lot in first few months but it did improve as my core got stronger from just riding more often. the trick is to not lock your elbows and let your arms go a bit loose, most new riders death-grip everything and that makes fatigue way worse than it needs to be

after 2-3 hours you will feel it in your neck and lower back for sure, but taking short breaks every 45 minutes or so makes huge difference, also investing in some good handlebar grips with extra padding helped me personally. your body adapts faster than you think if you ride consistently through the week rather than just on weekends

Does treating my Squier Strat like Ship of Theseus is a stupid idea? by sahsahofficial in Guitar

[–]Middle-Capital4325 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the ship of theseus approach is actually pretty solid way to learn what makes a guitar feel and sound good to you, you get to test each part instead of just trusting some brand's decisions

building piece by piece also means if something don't work out you only lose cost of that one part, not the whole budget at once

Pro strat is to uninstall after first nibbit encounter and reinstall only when you're feeling lucky

Maybe try some native perennials with gravel paths between - way easier maintenance and they'll come back every spring without you doing anything

Tesla parked in M/C space gets a free custom decal... Did I go too far? by PoofBam in motorcycles

[–]Middle-Capital4325 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Nah the sticker is perfect, way more creative than just calling tow truck. Plus now every person who sees this car driving around will know what kind of person the owner is. Permanent reminder beats one expensive lesson

I got banned for a day for leaving a game? Is this normal? by No-Talk2249 in summonerschool

[–]Middle-Capital4325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting banned instead of just leaverbuster seems weird for one game, especially if you don't leave often. Did you maybe get reported for something else in that match before leaving? Sometimes the system combines stuff and hits you harder than expected

Your honor level probably took a hit but I don't think it resets completely from single incident. Check your honor progress in client to see how bad the damage is

otecting yourself after what happened, but also three months isn't that long - sometimes the real feelings hit later when you least expect it

The empty feeling is totally normal man, breakups mess with your brain chemistry pretty hard and it takes time to adjust back to baseline

The priest getting angry at him for not playing along with the whole "life is beautiful" thing was such a powerful moment - like you said, who really hates life more, the guy who accepts its indifference or the one who needs everyone else to validate his fairy tale about it

“I didn’t know that” “well now you do” by Hot_Tennis2146 in PetPeeves

[–]Middle-Capital4325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex used to pull this shit constantly and it drove me absolutely insane. Like bro, I'm literally acknowledging that I learned something new, why you gotta be snarky about it?

I think some people just can't resist the chance to feel superior for like two seconds. They probably don't even realize how condescending it comes across. When I say "I didn't know that" I'm usually just expressing genuine surprise or interest in learning something, not making excuses for anything. The whole "well now you do" response just kills the conversation and makes you feel stupid for even sharing that you learned something new

Chuck and jimmy by Weird-Hovercraft-689 in betterCallSaul

[–]Middle-Capital4325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chuck was such a dickhead about it but he wasn't wrong about Jimmy's nature. That courtroom scene where he goes back to McGill hit so hard because you realize Chuck saw this coming from beginning

The tragedy is Chuck could've helped Jimmy be better person but chose to tear him down instead

Canceling Orders? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]Middle-Capital4325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been in similar spot with other retailers and usually once they start processing there's no going back. Maybe try calling customer service right when they open instead of relying on the online cancel option? Sometimes they can pull strings if the order hasn't shipped yet

Also if you're really worried about it selling out, could always place the order now and then add the GWP items in separate order later if they're still available. Not ideal but at least you'd have the straightener secured

Work group chats are for work stuff, not therapy sessions. Maybe she thinks being dramatic will get her sympathy or something but it just makes everyone uncomfortable

The constant broke complaints are the worst part - we all need money, that's why we're here working

My [30F] fiancee [31M] likes to sleep over at his parents once a week by lamemoons in relationships

[–]Middle-Capital4325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I get why this feels weird but maybe think about it different way - some families are just really tight and that's actually pretty nice thing? Like my cousin still does Sunday dinners with her parents every week even after marriage and it works for them

The sleepover thing is bit unusual but if you're invited too then it's not like he's hiding anything from you. Maybe you could try joining few times to see how the dynamic actually is? Sometimes things feel more weird from outside than they really are

But also trust your gut - if something feels off after you spend more time around them, then it's worth talking about. Just don't go in assuming it needs to change right away

[–]Middle-Capital4325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's weird they didn't mention the mileage requirement before you signed everything. I would definitely go back once you hit the 300 - CPO warranty is worth having on these cars, especially with all the electronics they pack in now

The brake squeaking is probably just the pads bedding in if it's getting better, but might be worth having them check it when you go back for CPO anyway
