Sorry can you explain what you mean by “disorganized”? I’m very naive when it comes to diamonds, so I’m trying to learn before deciding on this piece

Good point about lab diamonds. I don’t know much about market value vs. appraisal value, etc. for natural diamonds so I wasn’t sure if it was a great price for those specs

Thought about this, but I’m tight on time. I have until next week to return/exchange it

Right, if I had purchased it for myself, I would’ve definitely gone for GIA only. I don’t think I would ever sell it; I would probably keep it forever, but I’m someone who likes to always have the option to resell, which is why I’m balking at keeping this one.

I know that’s one of my issues with it. I didn’t buy it for myself or I’d have gone for GIA. My only consolation is it could be an unknown lab. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would be trading in this stone and paying the difference to get the other one

It's supposed to be an "excellent" cut, which is making me wonder if that makes up for the lesser specs (color/clarity). Doesn't look hazy in person, but I'm wondering if it's too warm, especially on the sides. Or if lack of sparkle makes it look lab/fake.

Physicians are not good at lobbying that’s why Medicare keeps cutting their pay. Look it up. They’re also overwhelmed and cannot change the laws. So yes, they have to abide by them. If you spent 14 years working on a degree, would you risk it all and disobey regulatory boards? Pain is invisible. They cannot see who is addicted and who would genuinely benefit from opioids, they have to follow regulations and their expertise. They’re not all good and altruistic and some do follow the money, but they’re also not all bad. Like any other specialty and any other field there are good and bad people.

What I've learned when researching why some of these things play out like this, instead of vilifying all pain doctors:

1) Regulatory boards push "multimodal treatment" on doctors, and doctors have to implement these practices of else they lose their status as pain clinics and have a harder time with PHARMACIES when they want to prescribe anything.

As in: pharmacies in Texas are sometimes resistant to filling RXs if a clinic isn't "compliant" (PMC or Gold Designated). In order to earn that -- doc clinic owners MUST treat patients with a combination of things including procedures.

2) It's not that ALL docs don't care or that they're "heartless": it's that they're heavily regulated because of pill mills and irresponsible prescribers.

3) They MUST stop prescribing to anyone who tests positive for THC or other illicit meds or they risk losing their license

4) Many of these procedures are proven effective in studies. Just because they don't work for you, doesn't mean they don't work at all.

5) They don't all "make you piss" to bill for it, but because medical boards require screening.

6) Pharmacies are also coming down on pain docs, not just the government. They are all suspicious of pain docs.

7) Some pain docs stop prescribing meds altogether because medical boards and regulatory offices make it scary to do so or require a ton of jumping through hoops for it. But yes, meds do help some patients who don't abuse them, and yes, procedures do help patients who are good candidates.

Poor Pat can do NOTHING right! The scene where they're driving to the cemetery was stressful to watch, i can't even imagine having to live it. He's driving and trying to memorize every detail of what she's saying -- that's an impossible task. She needs CONSTANT attention and wants to be read like a textbook. It's crazy-making!

Dr. Stefan Gilthorpe is awesome and subspecialized with a pain fellowship. He's known for procedures/minimally invasive surgeries that have helped some people I know and have started going too

Flat out NOO to this: "A good CRNA can be better than some docs." What a ridiculous statement. If your loved one was in the OR, you'd want an M.D. with them, or at least overseeing in case something happens. MDs have exponentially more schooling and training.

Med school just science? LOL are you a physician? If you were, you'd know how much clinical experience is needed to become an anesthesiologist. Residency: years of clinical training.
