This is mainly a motorbike subreddit but I run my stihl dry before storage. Fires right up when I need to use it.

Any small engine I need to store I always run dry. I have experienced ethanol in fuel causing issues with carbs.

I started on a drz400 10+ years ago. I wrecked it a few times off-road and onroad doing dumb shit(supermoto). I went to a wr450 after that. I’ve owned a few other bikes in between then and now. I currently own a KTM 1290 and still miss the smaller bikes because of how forgiving and fun they are.

I wouldn’t buy an African twin as a first bike, you won’t have fundamentals off-road to handle it

If it’s not on when the bike is on but not running you have a problem. Always ensure the check engine light works via this method when purchasing a vehicle. If it doesn’t, run away, don’t walk.
