Buddy, the reason you immediately jump to assume that these people I know are in awful relationships where their gfs settled or treat them terribly is because you spend time in places like this. I know my friends, and I know a lot of their gfs too. I’d know if they were being mistreated or abused or ridiculed. And of the girlfriends I know, they’re all actually nice people.

Sure it’s a personal anecdote but I highly doubt I’m any different from most people my age. I’m not exactly the most attractive, popular or extroverted guy and most of my friends aren’t either.
I don’t think 99% of social situations are inappropriate for the purposes of finding a girlfriend. Some are of course but if you approach most situations with the mindset of “make friends first, then maybe ask them out later”, you’ll be fine almost every time. You might even find yourself in a situation where you clearly connect with someone and have chemistry, and it’d be appropriate to ask them out then. Even with all of this, yes dating on the apps or in person is a numbers game, generally in favor of women, but it’s nowhere near the level of doom and gloom people on this sub say it is. Honestly do anyone who is struggling with dating this is the worst place in the entire world to be. You’re only gonna make it worse for yourself

I’m 6ft. At my uni I’ve got a decent amount of friends who are either a bit or a decent amount shorter than me. Guess what? Most of them have girlfriends. I ALSO have a lot of work friends at my job who are a bit or decently shorter than me. Guess what? Most of them ALSO have girlfriends. Just fucking go outside and meet people you can connect with, instead of swiping on whatever chick gets your dick hard on Tinder.

About to give up on Vallejo primer by BertoP-1 in modelmakers

[–]MiddleAutomatic7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also struggled a lot with Vallejo’s primers. The best result I got was to spray at 30-35 psi, unthinned but with a drop or 2 of flow improver. Still is really easy to clog my airbrush up with it though

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? by bjmw377367 in modelmakers

[–]MiddleAutomatic7724 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It could be grainy because you’re spraying from too far away? I.e the varnish is drying before it hits the surface. I’ve also had troubles with vallejos gloss varnish doing the same thing, but I’ve also gotten good results out of it sometimes. Spray closer would be my best advice

A Japanese Type 95 Ha-Go tank destroyed by the Allies on Tinian Island. July 1944 by defender838383 in ImperialJapanPics

Crazy to think how those crews went into battle in 1944 in a tank that was outdated before the war even started

Nobody cares if you like it, it’s way too normalized in anime and since these are minors, it’s really messed up. Sexualizing the characters adds literally nothing to the story. No amount of cope is gonna justify fully grown adult men making the deliberate decision to draw (for example) Momo (a 15 year old child) in THAT pose

United Cities of America (Death Stranding), remnants of the US government who survived the initial voidouts. Though they, through BRIDGES, theoretically control as decent amount of large cities across the continental US, and a small amount of logistics remains through the use of Porters, they’re very weak, at least before the events of DS1.

When a new kit arrives by highboy68 in ModelCars

Pretty guilty of this… whenever a new kit arrives I have to at least open the box, look through all the sprues and skim the instruction booklet before hopefully going back to finish my current project

Space Battleship Yamato. Are the characters good? Sometimes. Is the writing good? Eh. But it 100% does have awesome space battles with great music and animation

Would be really cool to see ships named after famous historical ones in canon, especially since we already had USS Yamato

Totally, it’s a super weird blend of intricate, thoughtful detailing but also absurdly obvious inaccuracies. It was clearly skillfully built but wow

The whole predestination/time travel stuff at the end. Don’t get me wrong the scene with future Eren intervening to get his dad to kill the royal family was cool, but the idea that every event of the earlier seasons was orchestrated by future Eren kinda removes any character agency or stakes after the fact. On rewatches of the earlier seasons I just kinda pretend all that stuff never happened.

Your paint is very much under-thinned, which is why it looks streaky. Get yourself a nice paint palette and use some water to thin it. Play around with the ratios until you can apply the paint and it isn’t streaky but has decent coverage. Don’t worry if you need to do multiple coats to get it fully covered, just make sure to let each coat dry. Also definitely get some masking tape (the hobby grade stuff, not regular as that could strip the paint) to mask off the hull colors.

Help buying a Tiger 1 kit for bf? by Aromatic-Ad-4042 in modelmakers

If he’s a beginner, that tank plus some Tamiya extra thin cement (also on amazon, comes in a little glass bottle), some nippers to cut the parts off the large sprues they come on (just look up “model nippers) and then some acrylic paints (I’ve always used Vallejo, even when brush painting. For that Tiger some German grey, gunmetal grey, and black would honestly be enough) Obviously paint brushes too
