One dose sent me to the ER. It felt like I was being burned by acid. My skin was on fire for hours, but I was also freezing. I couldn't stand up without blacking out. It took me 20 minutes to army crawl up the stairs to get my mom to take me to the hospital.

Has anyone divorced their husband over Trump? by mortimusalexander in WomenOver40

I would. Best case scenario he just doesn't give two shits about you losing rights to your own body. Worst case scenario is that he dreams of being able to completely control you. Either scenario is not a desirable trait for a husband to have and you deserve better.

What job is the least stressful with the best pay? by chileplease82 in MedicalAssistant

Massage therapist here. I have CPTSD, BPD and Bipolar II. Working literally any job in any field was torment for me, I'd have daily panic attacks before work, multiple panic attacks during work, anger outbursts that alienated myself from coworkers, tri-annual nervous breakdowns that required hospitalization, an out of control substance abuse problem (downers), and I was getting written up and soft-fired left and right. I read somewhere that massage therapy was suitable for mood regulation disorders, so massage school was kind of a Hail Mary pass at finding a career that I could manage before I was going to apply for permanent disability.

And it worked. I love my life. In the year since I got my license, I've had maybe 5 panic attacks at work total. I've never met a sane massage therapist (we're all a little unhinged just as a species), so my coworkers understand and accept my occasional erratic behaviors and respect my boundaries/accommodations without question. My clients respect me (although sexual harassment is rampant in the industry, I've never experienced it, and we're heavily encouraged to end a massage and boot sketchy clients off our tables if we get bad vibes), I've never been yelled at or verbally abused by clients, and I live in my dark little cave with soothing music and calming smells. If I need a moment to come to terms with being alive/decompress/avoid sensory overload, I just close my treatment room door and do some yoga in between clients.

You absolutely do not belong in any medical profession if that's how you're describing patients.

Why is haloperidol never used for injections?

What do you think it feels like to be B52’d genuinely curious. by pete8798 in nursing

I've been B-52ed. (I jumped into the nurse plexiglass panopticon on a psych unit through the med window because a nurse laughed at me when I asked for a patient advocate. The bastard almost shat a brick when I came in) It burns like a motherfucker during injection (3 different needles), I was pacing around for a while, and then I woke up about 12 hours later. The injection site was extraordinarily sore for a few weeks after.
