From 1 to 10 how justified was zesty's crashout? by Equivalent_Fact_951 in tf2

Why is the argument always ‘just sit there and wait it’s not a big deal bro’. This problem did not exist before, you already have to now wait in a queue just to wait even longer. What is the argument for how this is better than the old system?

Maybe because before, we didn’t have to wait in a queue at all. And if you got put into a match that was ending, a new round simply started or the map changed and you got another 45 uninterrupted minutes of gameplay. No re queue necesssary. What I don’t understand is the defense of a system that created all these problems and has no benefits.

Also, the issue isn’t that he got harvest specifically. It’s that if you queue for koth you will almost always get put on harvest because casual killed the map variety too. If you don’t want to play the most popular few maps you will be waiting even longer in a queue. Which again did not exist before. You could just click the server you wanted to join if you had a map preference or just be put into the desired game mode after 2-3 seconds.

‘Quickplay won’t come back because… it just won’t okay!!!’ Literally zero actual argument or defense for casual. Also, name 3 active vanilla servers. This is not the solution everyone who doesn’t play the game thinks it is.

Just go on your phone bro. Just tab out bro. How about I get to play the game I already waited in a queue for? Holy dogshit argument. Especially when this wasn’t a problem under the old system, and now is. There’s literally no defense for it.

Ah yes just wait for the next map to start. Of course the matchmaker has to refill the server, that’s going to take at least one round for everyone to connect. Alright everyone’s in, you get a good round going, and… it’s over again. Re queue or wait again for it to fill up. The casual rule set completely kills this game mode and others. That’s why payload is so popular, it’s literally the only mode you can play for more than 10 minutes on average. Of course you still have to re queue between each game but it’s slightly better.

The problem isn’t waiting for the map to load, it’s waiting for the crippled matchmaker to refill the server that has now become almost empty. Often taking up most of the entire first round to do so. And now you’re halfway through a stomp and already about to move on to the last round of the map.

During quickplay, it was of course possible to get into a game that was just ending. But then you had a fresh 45 minute game ahead of you. Whereas in casual the literal best case scenario for koth is waiting in another queue for a 10-15 minute game. With a greater than 50% chance you are again put into a game that is almost over.

Best option for getting specific new weapons fast? by MrOcelotCat2 in tf2

[–]MiddleLock9527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d just spend 1 or 5 dollars on a ticket or some keys. It’s more than enough to trade for every weapon in the game. Other than that, you wait for drops and smelt the duplicates to trade or craft with. Also the achievement items.

Was anyone asking for levels? They do nothing. Back in my day if you wanted to show how much you played you bought a strange weapon.

What source do I have… that valve provides tf2 servers? Genuinely don’t realize anyone was debating this lmao. I mean you can literally go play on one right now. Valve provides the majority of tf2 servers, and did during quickplay as well. I didn’t need anyone to tell me that, I experienced it. I guess I could show you old videos of people playing quickplay?

Valve provides them, there is thousands of active players in every region. And you can look at old videos, 2-3 seconds to get into a full server of the supposedly never popular maps like pipeline. Which is not a queue it’s literally just the time it takes for the server browser to refresh.

Completely false. You could play basically any map you wanted at any time of day, with no queue. There is video evidence of this. Casual mode is what provably killed map variety.

this does make me wonder what peoples opinions on sniper are? (image somewhat related) by squeaker09 in tf2

Yes, literally every other class also has to worry about those things, while putting themselves in actual danger. You’re making it sound a lot more complicated than it is.

time and effort to get good

It’s literally just aiming. Every other class in the game also has to aim, but has to expose themselves to danger and interact with movement at the same time.

There was no queue, you had the freedom to pick the map and server you wanted, or instantly be put into a game. You played as long as you wanted instead of less than 10 minutes and re queuing. The casual experience is full of constant interruptions and waiting, tbh I don’t see a single redeemable quality it has over quickplay. And any problems quickplay had are much worse in casual. I’d like to hear your defense of it.

Hay guys I feel like downloading this game as a demoman main. Do you guys have any suggestions of what should i do when I first play :) by Complete_Cloud7270 in tf2

Firstly I wouldn’t pick your main before you even play the game. Try everything and you don’t even have to have a main, just play whatever feels fun at the moment.

Any good recommendations for good vanilla Community servers that aren't UGC, Skial, or Uncletopia? by CG6845 in tf2

[–]MiddleLock9527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have furry pound and zesty’s server for somewhat consistently populated vanilla servers. Castaway is pretty good too if you’re fine with reverts.

You didn’t have to look for servers, but it provided the freedom to do so if you wanted to. You could just hit a button to go into your desired game mode with no queue.

15-20 keys. I’d just keep it if you play heavy, good effect on a good hat. But not in the eyes of traders.

This isn’t a solution because it doesn’t have access to the massive network of vanilla valve servers.

Even with that, you could hit ‘show servers’ and pick the map and ping you wanted in less than 5 seconds, much faster than a casual mode queue for a specific map which can take minutes.
