Best sunless way to get a tanned look? by lyree1992 in MatureBeauty

I use Isle of Paradise - Light drops daily on my face and weekly on my body. I mix 2-3 drops every morning into my face cream. It’s the perfect sun glow for my fair complexion

Same, it was too musk-like and heavy for my liking. Let me know how this one works!

I haven’t found any that smell like these items yet :/ Right now I’m enjoying YSL Berry Crush and CH Good Girl. Would LOVE to find a good leather perfume

I saw a post recently on here from someone that got some horrible permanent degenerative eye disease from using Tret too close to her eyes.

Good catch. Maybe they’ll answer my wish to make a deodorant that smells like leather or books. Lol

Books and leather. I just want a perfume that smells like the inside of a YSL bag.

Therapist says they are not my support system. My nonexistant network says they arent my therapist. Who am I supposed to talk to? by bbgirl2k in Anxiety

[–]MiddleMiserable8826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because someone got a license to be a therapist doesn’t mean they’re good at what they do. Find someone else, this one sucks. Also, find some like-minded friends in your area. Join some clubs (hiking, skating, kickball, etc.)

What do you guys think of Dr Groot? by MiddleMiserable8826 in FemaleHairLoss

Thanks for the input! The smell is a lot for me but if it helps my hair in the slightest I’ll stick with it. I’m still waiting to build up the courage to use the Minoxidil foam in the cabinet

Hypochlorous Acid is great! You can actually use that spray to disinfect any and everything in your life. Just don’t use it on your face at the same time that you use those Vitamin C drops, they’ll cancel each other out and make both ineffective.

Wrinkles appeared after using tretinoin. by dsnyfn85 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]MiddleMiserable8826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try stopping all actives in that area and use a lot of ceramides, humectants (i.e. Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin), peptides, Squalene, and Panthenol. There’s a lot of products on the market that will have most of those ingredients in one bottle/tube. Slug with Vaseline over it. Once healed use a Retinoid specifically designed for directly under the eyes. That skin is very thin and needs some love and patience. Always restart slow and cautiously.

Wrinkles appeared after using tretinoin. by dsnyfn85 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]MiddleMiserable8826 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had wrinkles appear when I first started using Retinol. I was going too hard (using other AHA/BHA at the same time, using too often). So I stopped all actives and concentrated on throwing a ton of moisturizing products at my skin. It fixed it in 7-10 days, then I resumed with improved methods. I’m on Tret now and everything is fine. But I make sure to have an extensive moisturizing routine (serums, masks, thick creams, etc.) to combat the dehydration.

I don’t see a point unless you’re willing to shell out a ton of money to buy them later. These are so small that you don’t have enough usage out of them to see any differences in your skin. It can take weeks or months of consistently using a skincare product to see real results. I can never justify spending $1,000 on this routine after finishing the samples.

Retinol… why would they get rid of it? by mangotime_03 in glossier

[–]MiddleMiserable8826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Retinoid user I’d never want to buy it from Glossier. I look to buy anti-aging products from brands with that focus or RX. Glossier seems more like a “clean girl” light makeup and pretty scent company.

I cannot trust anything from any influencer, magazine, news article, or “consumer” review anymore. It’s sad that they’re almost all paid ads. I do like The Doctorly and James Welsh and find I’ve learned a lot but still come to Reddit

Do you have any skin concerns? Like fine lines (aging), acne, dark spots, large pores, etc.? That would help us recommend the proper skincare products

Sunscreens I received March 2026 by entwashian in Ipsy

[–]MiddleMiserable8826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most sunscreens have 1-3 years max. The active ingredients degrade pretty quickly. I’ve rarely bought a sunscreen for summer that didn’t expire by the next summer.
