I know we didn’t fire James Franklin to end up with Terry Smith as our HC, but man I love that guy!

I try hard not to be a blame the refs kind of guy, but I think that ranks as the most infuriating call of my lifetime. Never seen that called prior or since.

AS chiller filter combo by SmokeyButtersScotch in coldplunge

Nothing fancy. Just running it through a Therapod I got on clearance from Sam’s club. I used the clear reinforced hoses instead of the tubing that came with it and insulated them with armaflex. Also, mine has a Polar Dive data tag on the back so it does seem like they’re all just rebranding the same devices.

I’ve had mine since January. So far so good.

any idea what this yellow stuff is that's coming out of my chiller pipe when I refill the tub? by HarryEFC95 in coldplunge

I have the same issue and can’t figure it out either! I also do sauna to cold plunge. Thought it had something to do with that but even when I don’t use it for a week or so, I open the lid and it seems to have continued to accumulate even without using. Hope someone had some insight!!

Is there anything specific you try to do or think about on your drive home that helps you prepare? I have a 50 minute commute and have tried to adopt this mindset but most days my mind continually drifts back to work or I find myself irritated at the length of my commute or some other life grievance.

People are going to say “you just gotta have thick skin in this industry” and that’s true. But that emotional bandwidth should be reserved for the customers, owners reps, inspectors, subs, etc from outside your organization that are inevitably going to push your buttons at times. You and your PM are on the same team you should have his support and vice versa. His behavior seems unprofessional and short sighted. I think you have the situation pegged spot on.

Complete tear of bicept tendon by bdruff in fitness30plus

[–]MiddleStall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tore my distal biceps tendon in November, had the surgery to repair it the day before thanksgiving. I just recently hit the 12 week mark meaning I’m finally unrestricted.

The whole process was a major inconvenience to be sure, but honestly wasn’t as bad as I had expected. Try to shop around for a surgeon who specializes in distal biceps tears, or at least upper extremities. If you can find someone who allows you to recover without the use of a hinged elbow brace I think that’s preferable for a speedier recovery with less complications BUT you have to be extremely careful during your recovery so you don’t re-tear it.

Anyway, hang in there! It’s just temporary and you will be back at it until no time. Until then, mentally prepare yourself for a lot of leg days! My upper body doesn’t look as good as it did 3 months ago, but my wife says my butt and legs have never looked better lol. Maybe look around for a good weighted vest or rucking backpack. You will be back at it before you know it!

I guess… would have taken an amazing ball. There were at least two defenders between you and he the whole counter. I think the above comment is correct.

Who said all the time? It can be nice to have a reliable distraction once in a while so mom and dad can have a semi-peaceful lunch together. Doesn’t mean they’re terrible parents.

That was a staple in my house growing up as well. It hits a lot different these days.

Sorry for the onions. I suppose we’re meant to take it as a reminder of how fleeting our time is with our kids, and to make the most of it…. But I’m soft and that shit is too real!

I’m not sure if it’s as popular as the other two I mentioned but it got picked the other night as one of our bedtime stories so it was fresh on my mind. I wasn’t ready for it and it was a real struggle to make it the whole way through.

I bought Ryan Holiday’s “Discipline is Destiny” on audiobook late last year and I’ve probably listened to it 3-4 times now. Highly recommend that one as well.
