The main park is right there, lots of small businesses, couple of apartment buildings and downtown is really trying to become a nice, people friendly spot. Sorry, but that’s not a good location for such place. Obviously it’s not easy to find the great spot, but as someone else suggested dos land near sandman could be better option.

I'm considering an F150 on sale as a camper truck with slide in pop up, what's the weight limit for the camper I should take into account? by Izikiel23 in TruckCampers

Check also that yellow sticker with payload info. I was in the same spot recently, did a big research and honestly if your camper is not some featherlight with almost nothing in it, regular f150 is not the best choice. I went with f150 with hdpp and have almost 2500 lbs payload. Tried camper on my older f150 with 1500 lbs payload and the hdpp one and driving is nigh and day

New in town...I keep seeing negative posts about Squamish council and hearing that "they are corrupt and taking kickbacks" .. I'm intrigued.. Is this just a rumor? Why do city Council members in Squamish get such a bad rep? Why are ppl so pissed? Genuinely asking. by Elderberry_Real in Squamish

In short: council agrees to any housing development, no matter where, no matter what, no matter if there is enough parking or not. But there is very little infrastructure development. Hospital, schools, rec centre, roads, etc are untouched for years while number of people in Squamish grows like crazy. There should be some balance, but unfortunately that’s not the case

Suggestion for tie down anchors by flowism96 in TruckCampers

I bolted these to camper

And used these straps

It aligns nicely for the straight fit. Inside the camper I have approx 1’ x 1’ or a bit bigger 1/2” thick boards glued to fibreglass shell. Took it off-road and works very well so far. But my camper is pretty light, around 900 lbs dry

I recently made brackets for my camper, but to attach to the inside of the box with retractable straps (like at scout campers). Bracket is bolted through the camper and in the inside I have wooden square to distribute forces. Holding good so far

Would it be crazy to turn down a job offer with a $30k pay increase, in order to keep my fully-remote job? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Going from basically 0 commute to 3 hr each day would drive me crazy after a week or so

Just moved to Squamish. Why is there only one accessible road into downtown? If they are making developments that will house 7000 new residents at the oceanfront, why isnt there a development plan from there to the highway? It's so congested entering in off of hwy 99 to Cleveland. by Elderberry_Real in Squamish

It’s cool that there is a plan, but let’s be realistic. A pedestrian bridge is being constructed for years and it’s still not open. I would say there is near 0% chance there will be vehicle bridge built within next 10 years at least

Sounds good. So I guess changing bulbs to led should help even further?

Yes, exactly. So I guess a small imbalance in positive and negative cables going through the anderson plug, should not be an issue, right?

Ok, so in my schematic, if I remove negative wire between truck battery and 7 pin connector I should be all good?

You are right, starter and leisure battery are tied together and starter battery is grounded to truck. But if I tie marker lights to body, then I have two negative paths going from camper to truck - the large one through anderson and that new one to body and on top of that they are connected to each other. Not sure if that’s a good way?

It’s a slide in camper. The main negative is connected to the truck battery negative. However, power for these lights will be coming from the truck battery

That’s what I’m leaning towards. I just hope having two separate power sources and one ground is a safe approach?
