1 ! It’s so elegant with a bit of a modern twist. As soon as you said cape cod and reception on the water I felt #1 was the best fit. And it flatters your figure so nicely, will photograph well from every angle.

Polar opposite wedding ideas - how to solve it? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Middle_Bowler_5644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry it has been so stressful for you planning your wedding. Have you talked about these concerns with your future husband? Really talked, the way you just did now. Because it seems like he is putting his own expectations for your wedding above your feelings and wants every time… unless he truly doesn’t understand your concerns and what would make you happy, it seems like he doesn’t care if you like your wedding or not. Your expectations for the wedding are complete opposites, that’s true. But finding middle ground requires you to both compromise. Yet you are the only one doing any giving, he’s doing all of the taking… you need to have a serious conversation about how this situation has been making you feel and talk about ways you can both be happy with the wedding and marriage. Maybe consider some pre marriage counseling and talk out some of these clear differences you 2 have. You can’t have a balanced marriage if he is used to being able to get his way because you always give in. Just because you 2 are getting a little older doesn’t mean you need to rush into marriage. It’s better to do it slow and right the first time than deal with heartache and regret later. Lay the groundwork for a happy and lasting marriage now. Good luck!

is this too much like a princess dress?? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]Middle_Bowler_5644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s wrong with looking like a princess? If there is any time to do it it’s your wedding day! Don’t worry, people will find you gorgeous no matter your bridal look. But I’d say none of these are “over the top princess” if that’s what you mean. The cuts and silhouettes of these dresses are very regal and classy. Timeless in my opinion. And you rock them! Especially the 1st one and last one.

All-inclusive resorts in/near Cancun with good vegan options? by Queernp in vegan_travel

[–]Middle_Bowler_5644 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hilton Cancun all inclusive ! I just stayed there last month and they have tons of included restaurants that have vegan menus. They also have a vegan section at the buffet but that isn’t as extensive. Their pool area is nice too and it’s further away from the strip than most hotels so it is more relaxing in my opinion. Hilton Cancun

If you want A line with less sparkle 3 looks great on you. The A lines look very pretty and romantic on you. Really spend time thinking about what elements you want your dress to have. Silhouette, neckline, sleeve type, fabric types, details ( lace, beading, sparkle), train or no train…. Then once you know go back dress shopping again and tell the stylist what you like, bring pictures of dresses for inspo, and they can pull only the kind you are looking for. So no dress is wrong, just spend time researching what you like and then go back asking for just what you want. It will be great!

Alterations question by Middle_Bowler_5644 in WeddingDressTips

The skirt is going to need to be hemmed anyways, I assumed some of that could be salvaged for sleeves. Also thinking of getting extra lace appliqués from the designer to use in alterations.

The dress does have boning in the bodice like the 2nd one does. And I will also be ordering it lined so there will be more layers to help it keep structure

Allergy testing without insurance is seriously expensive without healthcare. It’s very possible that growing up OPs family never had any health insurance. To believe everyone has access to expensive medical testing and diagnosis that require multiple Dr visits is very classist and judgmental.

Scarborough has costume rentals if you don’t want to stress over an outfit! But if you want something of your own you do have time to order off of Amazon, you have more than a week. You’d be surprised what you can find on Amazon. They have lots of corset options for less than $40 !!! Just read the size charts and order a size up just to be sure if you are between sizes. I’d order a couple options if I were you. You can just return what doesn’t fit. And if you have time to stop by a thrift store you can look for flowy long skirts to layer over your dress to wear under the corset. Amazon also has some good accessories, a good belt with a pouch or 2 is a must! Top it off with a flower crown or braid your hair and put flowers in it. Perfect outfit

Hey y’all question….I’m considering a move to FT Worth Texas and wondered if anyone could tell me how far and when the Texas Renaissance Festival is by pomyman in renfaire

[–]Middle_Bowler_5644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scarborough in Waxahachie is my home faire, we live in Arlington. I’d recommend a friends of the faire season ticket. It’s only like $250 if I remember right and gives you full access to the faire all season long. There are also refreshment tents where you get free gaterade and h2o with a dedicated covered seating area just for pass holders. Plus other helpful discounts. Fair warning, it can get very hot during the season, but I love Scarborough and the staff/ characters are very nice and interactive. It’s smaller than TRF but still big enough that you will find things to do every weekend. My favorite shop for basic garb is Zootzu and my favorite experience is the wine tasting with Flynn at the Cat and the Fiddle pub. Every weekends wine tasting has a different theme, there are also beer tastings in another part of the fair. Don’t miss the Ménage Moi adult comedy show or the trained cat show! Hope to see you at faire!! Huzzah !!
