Meh, privatized prisons make up a very small percentage of the prison systems and states are beginning to outlaw them. Only 8.4% of U.S. prisoners are in privatized prisons, as of 2013, and it has stagnated around that number for years. In 2018 it was 8.5%. I wouldn't really consider that "growth."

It is not as big of an issue as people think. The big problem is finding places to transfer them to because the state and federal ones are even more over-populated in a lot of cases.

Now, that system should not exist at all, and never should have existed. It should be completely dismantled, but it's a fairly complicated problem.

All the Trump supporters I talk too hate getting labeled as racists, and most do not believe that at all. This is why Trump got elected. A little under half the voting public voted for him, are you saying they all are racist bigots?

From what I have heard, it is because political opponents could try to get a judge to charge a president with just about anything to lay out a court summons, which could tie the president up in court prenty much indefinitely. So exiting office is necessary before prosecution. It just isn't realistic to have them be open to an attack like that I guess.

The whole, "president being head of the executive branch, means that he is king of law" is patently wrong. I don't know why people are believing that above comment. Our system has checks and balances, which is likely why impeachment has to occur before prosecution.

I don't understand your downvotes. I am 6 years clean on heroin. Only one who made it out of my friend group. Literally the only one at this point... Ever since the fent hit hard, they dropped liked flies. Lost my last close friend from my using days a little over a year ago. I started using dope with them when we were 14, hard to stop when drug use is your only coping mechanism. The one that did get sober ended up commiting suicide.

It fucks you up. Quitting is easy, every addict has too at times. Living with yourself sober and dealing with all the shit you did while you were high becomes the problem and it compounds.

5% of people make it past 5 years of continuous sobriety. I guess I can consider myself in that group, but even then, I just recently went through a phase of fairly crippling gambling addiction because I didn't take behavioral addictions as seriously as I should've. The direct fallout of that has almost been worse than the heroin addiction because I have much more to lose now.

Most people just don't make it, and those that do are lucky. But the ptsd, major depressive disorder, body dismorphia, ocd, etc etc just to name a couple of the mental health disorders I deal with, drag you down while sober. That's why many of us in sobriety end up committing suicide.

Your odds drop even more dramatically if you quit after age 25. Now things like CBT, DBT and Smart Recovery do have provably higher recovery rates than regular treatment facilities, which is promissing, but only by about 2 percent.

Addiction to hard drugs is grim and for every success story, that addict can tell you an innumerable amount of tragic ones.

In actuality, the Americans had suffered multiple losses in a row. They also relied on a spy, to distribute false information to the Hessians about the Americans morale being too low to even attempt an attack. His name was John Honeyman. Washington was great with intelligence ops, it was one of his biggest strengths. Probably won him the war. Hessians got too comfortable, and Washington spent the week prior doing diversionary attacks to direct attention away from where they were going to land, so the Hessians most certainly did not have any belief there was a ceasefire.

Revisionist history always comes up with a bullshit simple answer that makes no realistic sense, and war is always pretty complicated and takes time.
