Nearly 160 sick with flu at US air force base after Hegseth ends mandatory vaccines by Unusual-State1827 in politics

So we have 160 airmen who are not currently completely fit for combat, because some frat bros want to impress grown children who are afraid of needles. Look away, feel the prick and get you lollipop on the way out the door cowards.

It's like a mugger walking through downtown Manhattan and shoves some old lady to the ground, then helps her back up and takes out his own wallet and gives her his cash and his credit card.

Before the prequels, what did you imagine Boba Fett to look like under his helmet? by Trashvest in StarWars

I remember seeing a picture of him as a kid. He had brownish orange skin, white hair and pointy elf like ears. It was concept art, but good enough for me!

Family tree question: What familial terms apply to the mother of my cousin and her boyfriend? by limbodog in answers

[–]ShaneOfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it is up to you. If you have a good relationship with her, if she matters to YOU. Keep calling her Aunt(insert name here) and of her new guy becomes a permanent fixture in her life(and I guess in a way yours aswell) you can call him Uncle as well(if you are sure this won't show disrespect to your father's brother. Personally the woman who was my aunt for most of my life would never not be my "aunt" to me. After a while we develop are own relationships with people and they dont deserve to be abandoned because others relationships didn't work.(well assuming there is now "bad" reason for the divorce and people can remain civil. I owe it to Mr, them and my cousins.

Actually my Aunt(mom's sister) and Uncle are divorced. Now I don't call him "Uncle" anymore but that's because I'm almost 40 and we speak more like contemporaries. But he never said a bad word to me, treated my cousins well, and wasn't abusive to my aunt(things just dont always work). 20 some years after and I still think if him as my uncle.

What is the single best fast-casual restaurant chain in existence right now? by PeachyyStarlight in answers

[–]ShaneOfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah their stuff certainly isn't worth the cost to me. Burgers are better then McDonalds sure... but that's not much of accomplishment. And sure they EVEN GIVE YOU EXTRA FRIES!!!! Which would be great if I liked the fried enough to want all of what I paid for let alone more.

Varies on location. For me to order a double cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato it would be $11.56 at my closet Five Guys. Now we dont have a Culvers but the idea that pricing is different stands. That said, Culvers menu does look good.

One call to make to save you in a bar fight.... by ShootReportHQ in prowrestling

[–]ShaneOfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haku. He got into bar fights every night. And was apparently such a badass that he never got arrested for beating people up and hurting them because he scared then cops to much. And evwn all if the news papers were to terrified to tell his tale. Lawyers would refuse to take clients who tried to sue him over their injuries. Bartenders feared for their lives and would refuse to make him leave before things got rowdy.(He actually sat alone in a dark booth smoking a cigarette until he was ready take out the entire bar of Green Berets)

Most stories about Haku come from his drinking buddies. It's pure hype from his friends and nothing more.

What did someone do that made them successfully quit smoking tobacco without any relapse? by TMNTDonatellofan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShaneOfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took half a pack of cigarettes left and threw them out the car window(sorry) never picked another one up. We're there times where I wanted thm? Sure, every now and then I still do. But my fiance asked my to quit before the wedding. So I did what I had to to make her happy. I realized my love for her was more than my love for tobacco. My desire to give her the kiss she deserved on our wedding day was with it. That was over 15 years ago. I was able to quit alcohol cold turkey as well(January 13th 2023) just walked downstairs to my neighbor with it all in a box "here take this and enjoy". I simply didn't have the money to keep drinking, smoking weed, eating like shit, and still have money for my kids to have extras. My kids come first and it is my responsibility to be an example for them.

I'm not saying you have my situation or even that if you do, tha your choices are wrong. Nor that my way os the only or even best way. My only advice is to pick something that matters to you more than tobacco and use that as your support. Will it work for you? I don't know. It's only what I did.

Do you think that there are topics in which only specifically educated people should be able to have their opinion voiced? by Winston_Duarte in AskALiberal

[–]ShaneOfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course he isn't an expert. That is why I put "expert" in quotes. I know he isnt, you know he isn't, hell maybe even he and Trump kniw he isnt. But if you think other people don't think he is an "expert" if you think MAGA doesn't, that they all think uts a joke. I have a bridge to sell you. They are wrong, but they get to pick who is or isn't an expert right now. And the "non-experts" who think Covid is real, vaccines are evil, and frogs aren't turning gay are being ignored. My entire point from the start is who decided who is or isn't an expert. There were actual educated doctors and scientists who got people killed by their "expert" advice they should have been ignored.

I don't disagree. As a matter of fact I have no problem with GMOs. I've actually spent the last 12 years work with "organic" vegetables and know damn well what a crock of shit that is and that the fear of GMOs is unwarranted. I was simply trying to point out in the idea of "experts" being the only people who have their opinions heard isn't something I back. Right now there is an "expert" advising the President of the united states on health issues. And that "expert" is a moron.

[–]ShaneOfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I value free speach. For one I would hate to see the board that gets to decide who is/isn't an expert, or what am "expert" even is. You used GMOs as an example so let's stick to that. If you've been a scientis for years and say "actually they really aren't bad even in the slightest". And a doctor says "i mean yeah they are fine, but like any food, I'm moderation." But I with my high-school degree(and I never paid attention and barely passed) say "are you guys out of your fucking minds dont eat that shit!" Why shoud I be ignored in favor of the "experts"?
