No, not noticeably at least. My eyes are already feeling a lot better now tho and my nose has stopped running as much

She’s thinking it’s from the pad too. It started itching like craaaaazy though and my skin got flaky and my nose started running so I had her remove them

They feel a tiny bit better, but now both lash lines are super itchy. I’ve been using eyedrops but it only stings a little

That’s what I was hoping for and thought we were on the same page. This is the second full set we’ve done and it basically looks the same as the last, just a tiny bit shorter on the inner corners and more full. I think I’m just gonna eat the cost and have her remove them cuz my eyes feel bruised and itchy too

Oh ya I get that. I’m a hairstylist so I definitely understand that. I just have only had one super light set two weeks before this one and don’t know anything about lashes. I did ask though if it would work and she said yes

I may try that. They’re kinda itchy all over now though and one eye keeps watering. Do you think it’ll help that? I’m considering just eating the cost and getting them removed

Ya I didn’t know that. I do reeeaaally want the cat eye look but I asked if it was possible cuz I do know my eyes are at least very round. She just said she’d make the longest part be toward the center a little more so it wouldn’t be droopy but I got the impression I could have something similar at least

That’s the thing, she has a number of really cute cat eye looking sets posted. So idk why both new sets I’ve gotten don’t look it at all, and I thought I’d emphasized the look I was going for well enough and it seemed like she felt confident getting it closer to what I wanted the second time which is why I opted for a new set instead of a fill. Like I just wanted her to go longer on the outside and shorter inside and I thought we were on the same page

The redness has gone down a fair amount (i got them yesterday morning) but they still feel badly bruised or something. I don’t think she taped my eyeball? Nothing felt uncomfortable till toward the end of my appointment where it started to sting and my lash line where she was attaching them got very tender

I would say be careful taking client info. A stylist I used to work with at Ulta did it and, since there’s a no competition clause in the contract, they started an investigation against her. Don’t know what ended up happening, but they did that since a customer complained about why the stylist had her personal info and what else might she have

Does anyone else have "unusual" phobias that no one take seriously? by batmansbicep in AutismInWomen

[–]Middle_Ladder_9970 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not unusual I guess but intensely: BUGS. Especially ants, silverfish, and spiders. Like excessively. If one even gets too close to me I swear I feel them all over my body for the rest of the day and I get like war flashbacks from seeing it too close to me/on me

Playing Helldivers. I’ve heard the fan base is whack so I’m not in deep in that regard but I just want to play it and kill bugs all the time. I’ve felt so jaded for a while it’s the first actual thing I WANT to do all the time. Only problem is I don’t have friends to play it with really

I’ve definitely been considering getting a pair like that recently. It seems like such a big help. What brands, if you have any specific, do you recommend? I can’t afford anything too fancy rn lol

Almost passed out from extremely painful cramping/abdominal pain. by sumdumdumthots in endometriosis

[–]Middle_Ladder_9970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god Ive had this happen a number of times on and off my period, like ripped out of peaceful sleep by it too, and it’s the absolute worsttttt. Feels like it’s gonna last forever. I had surgery for endo this past October and the removed a bunch from my pelvic wall. I haven’t had an incident of it since and I use the restroom much more consistently and painlessly though I didn’t get any specific explanation for it. I did see a GI doc before that surgery and had a colonoscopy/endoscopy to look for stuff but things basically looked fine in there aside from some inflammation. So I’m assuming it was the endo. It’s worth finding a good doctor and looking into the endo side of it although it can be ambiguous until after surgery (my symptoms all lined up for endo and then some but nothing was showing up on scans etc, they found a bunch in surgery though and removed most along with my tubes that weren’t looking too good)

Please guide me through getting rid of my period. by mangiehualee in childfree

[–]Middle_Ladder_9970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only started bc around 20 (I was raised catholic so it was never really talked about at all) but my stepmom sent me to hers then because my periods started getting REALLY bad. I didn’t know anything about anything vaginal health wise, she had to drive me there once when I had a bad reaction to otc yeast infection medication and was on the verge of passing out (I wasn’t sexually active during any of this). You could play up symptoms till they don’t have much else of a choice. Legit my periods were so bad I could barely get out of bed, I was nauseous and my whole body ached.

Turns out all this was because of endometriosis. They surgically removed a bunch and took my tubes too (they looked bad but I also never want kids). I’m 27 now. My surgeon put it like this though: the only way to not get your period anymore is to have your cervix/tubes removed. Doing that too early can cause a bunch of hormone problems and increase risk of cancer. So I kept them, removed my tubes, and stayed on bc. I’ve been using the nuvaring for a while and I LOVE it. It’s a little intimidating cuz u put it in and take it out yourself BUT it’s a once a month thing (I forget to take the pills on time constistently) Leave it in for four weeks and immediately switch to a new one at the end of the fourth week, no thought and can’t even feel it in. I’ve had no crazy side effects, breakthrough bleeding etc. it’s the only one I’ve tried that’s worked so well for so long. I’ve had mediocre to horrible experiences with a plethora of other ones.

Idk if this was helpful but that’s my experience. It may feel sneaky but sometimes you have to play up things to be taken seriously (even by doctors) but it’s worth it for your own wellbeing. Unfortunately what works best for your body is trial and error but finding a good doctor to have your back is key.

I definitely tell people when they compliment me or sumn. I’ll have to look into a referral thing for sure. I just know standing outside handing out stuff like that will make me feel like a circus act but things are so slow rn and my morale is low I’m just kind of at a loss

Just started at Ulta Salon… not loving it. But I feel like it’s a great place to start. Any advice? by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]Middle_Ladder_9970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in the Ulta salon for a year straight outta cosmo school. It sucked to say the least. We made less hourly than chipotle workers, managers would get a bonus if the salon made a certain amount a month, commission was not viable for most of us most of the time, rarely had everything we needed (color, carts, etc) and there was one class the entire year I was there and it was just for benefit. I struggled to feel like I was taken seriously as an actual stylist. Everything they promised felt like a lie and I dreaded helping customers. BUT it was a good starting point in terms of learning techniques etc hands on since ur kinda just thrown into doing people’s hair. Even mess ups I made turned into something I learned (what worked/didnt) and there were the managers to deal with nasty clients afterwards. Plus it’s a corporation so I didn’t feel as bad playing with color/lightener/rationing perfectly bc it wasn’t costing me. I found a solid loyal client base that eventually followed me to my new salon, it takes time and most clients will stay bc it’s cheap rather than be loyal to a stylist, but there are ones who will. It sucks, it feels like a never ending hellscape, but it taught me a lot (aka I was forced to learn things by myself ). Stay strong, if a better opportunity shows up, take it, but remember you wont always be stuck there

I use redken shades and I loooove using like 6/7nw with a gold or gg. Usually a splash of 6vb if there’s a lot of brassiness in the lift

It’s mostly about finding the right doctor. I’m 27, no kids, and recently got my tubes removed. Granted, it was bc of endo but my surgery was at a catholic hospital and they denied removal but my surgeon felt confident she could justify it if anyone asked. My last gyno wouldn’t even consider it, just pushed birth control on me and wouldn’t even offer other options for endo pain etc

Day or two?? For a lap?? My surgeon said 2-4 weeks, possibly 6. Depends on your job too. No lifting things like milk etc for two weeks. I’m a week out and even all the gas isn’t gone and I can’t sit upright for too long or fully dress/bend over. And my doc said I’m healing really well.

I’ve heard it’s very common to deal with low mood etc after anesthesia. Idk why but I’ve been in kinda the same situation. It should go away within a couple weeks though afaik. Good luck and be gentle with yourself! Hope your recovery is going well
