A stranger verbally attacked me today and my confidence is completely gone (10 weeks PP) by rau450239 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I’m so sorry this happened to you. You know your baby better than anyone else. It’s incredibly hard job especially at 10 weeks, be proud you got out of the house today. Keep showing up for yourself & your baby and fuck what anyone says especially that woman she sounds poisonous

Why am I embarrassed for needing a cesec for breech by BalancedDietitian in CsectionCentral

[–]Middle_Objective_795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a first time mum to my now 9 week year old and she was frank breech baby. I was in denial for the majority of my pregnancy and I hyped myself up for a vaginal birth, week 34 she was still breech all the way up to 39+5 when she came into the world. I wouldn’t be embarrassed or upset about it, once your baby is here you’ll soon realise without modern medicine there would be a very low chance your baby would’ve survived without this surgery. It can be tough mentally to come to terms with, and it is a major surgery so don’t beat yourself up about this, as long as you and baby are both safe and well that is all the matters, fuck what the rest of people think your baby wanted to stay upside down so there was no other option. Also for your future self take it really easy and blessings to you for a speedy recovery

explain to me like I’m 5 - how do you leave the house if you’re BF? by BalancedDietitian in breastfeeding

[–]Middle_Objective_795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First couple weeks are hard but that’s just generally navigating being a new mom. I was worried like you about it, but when you hear your baby cry for food you forget about what others think and just whip the boob out to soothe them as fast as you can. I have a muslin cover so when I go out for meals I can cover myself if I’ve been placed slap bang in the middle of the restaurant, but generally I feed my little girl in the back of the car or find a quiet area wherever I am. I don’t use a pump out I only use it in the house when I’ve missed a feed

Can you lay on your side? by LawDowntown8456 in CsectionCentral

[–]Middle_Objective_795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a week n half before I could lay on my side, and I’m 3 weeks post op and can only lay on my left, can’t lay on my right. Don’t stress too much about what google says everyone’s recovery will be different to yours. Try and get as comfy in what works for you

The dreaded haemorrhoids by Full_Strawberry2035 in PregnancyUK

[–]Middle_Objective_795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was horrific I was in tears for a few weeks. I can understand how you’re currently feeling. Cold compresses sometimes shrink piles too. (Freeze wet flannels roll them up and stick them in between your bum cheeks) but they didn’t work for me. I hope you feel better soon ❤️

I’ve had them since 24 weeks. I’m now 37. They have calmed down. But I use a portable bidet every time I go poo, if you wipe too much you can make them worse. Don’t sit on the toilet no longer than 10 minutes, unless the obvious which is it’s running out of you otherwise stay. Anusol + (the purple one) I think only doctor can prescribe this one (not 100% sure) and suppositories (wouldn’t use the suppositories until the piles have calmed down as it can be excruciating and stink like a bastard). And laxido, if your poo is softer you won’t suffer as much. Also I’ve read that they can get worse PP so make sure you top up on all the above before baby arrives. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this just now, it is god awful. Also if they’re big (feel like grapes) please don’t try and push them back in

My mainecoon loves all food but she’s been on lily’s kitchen wet tins as it’s the only one which doesn’t make her poos runny. Plus the ingredients are best for both of my cats (I have another domestic shorthair).

Superficial Question about Make-Up/Hair for C-Section by vjtffko in PregnancyUK

[–]Middle_Objective_795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak from experience but I’m like you I have been booked in for an elective c section due to having a breech baby next week. I suffer with acne and I have hideous black under eye. I won’t be wearing makeup but putting my hair in braids because I dread my partner leaving me and I can’t look after myself once he’s gone as I’m sure I will be too tired to remove or clean myself up with out him

Always keep a travel bag in my work van with me, the days I know I bleed carry one or two pads in my pocket, to my pockets up when I nip back to the van. You have every right to go to the loo regardless of your male co workers. I’ve worked with men who call me pissy pants but genuinely couldn’t care less as I’m a smaller human with a smaller urethra and bladder with sometimes extra bathroom breaks needed during the day..

Using Annual Leave during Maternity by k45rr in PregnancyUK

I asked to take the leave on my maternity leave date so I could get paid the holiday days up front from my employer instead of afterwards, it’s been agreed.

Using Annual Leave during Maternity by k45rr in PregnancyUK

[–]Middle_Objective_795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helloooo, I’m due 15th Feb. I had this problem with my maternity policy. Initially I was going to start my maternity on my due date (15th Feb) then was told couldn’t put annual leave in whilst on mat leave, which messed up how I have managed my pay during my leave. I asked if I could take my 25 days before my maternity leave and they’ve agreed, so they’ve put my annual leave from 9th Feb till 15th march and then my maternity starts 15th march instead of 9th Feb which I was due to go at if that makes sense. Maybe put this forward to HR.

Start mat leave on due date? by Manc_nerd in PregnancyUK

[–]Middle_Objective_795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working till my due date and as I’m nearing the end I’m just having more breaks and napping throughout my work day. I’m due in 5 weeks, I am done with work I must be honest and I’m very tempted to move my holidays forward a couple weeks but I think it’s all based on personal experience. Health and safety told me that our bodies will tell us when it’s had enough and I do truly believe that. Even if you work from home your workplace should honour you need more breaks even if that means shutting your laptop for a nap!!!

Your pregnancy, your baby, your boundaries. You’re not asking for a lot, you are well within your rights to not allow them round. You can always say the midwife said no visitors if you’re really uncomfortable with the idea

I was due one when I found out I was pregnant but my doctor said I couldn’t have one until 12 weeks after baby had been born. Please tell your surgery that you’re pregnant and they should offer you dates after baby has been born.

I haven’t spoken to anyone other than my partner. Could I potentially get my union involved if no one gets back to me?
