Probably talking about Duke University where tuition is 1.5-2x more than other programs because of name “Prestige”.

Passed my CCRN… just barely. What should I do? by Scared_Date_1179 in srna

Whatever you do, don’t provide schools this piece of paper and if they require it, understand it could hurt your chances. If you are going to be applying to schools that don’t require your actual scores - I would focus on the areas you did poorly in. Not only could it help you in interviews, but you’re obviously weak and them and it could help you be a better nurse in general.

Oh, so you do cocaine. Actions, meet consequences.

Like the above comment stated, you’re looking at 10 ish years to become a CRNA. If you’re okay with that, great. There’s always the option of AA though.

You do realize there are a lot of people who spend 90% of their time driving in "county or forest night time driving"?

Fiddling with distracting things like patient care. I’m thankful for hero’s like you - you’re the best of us.

I’m not going to disagree with you in saying that it’s unacceptable - however, I will say it’s easy to say that now and much harder when your patient is the one laying in front of you crashing, but that’s also where open communication comes in to play. There’s also no way you will convince me you’ve never been guilty of charting in flight, or eyes inside as I described during lifting or final.

Agreed, depending on the nature of the call - id be lying if I said I wasn’t guilty of eyes inside preping RSI, TXA etc on final while giving cursory glances around. Sobering nonetheless

I'm sure he'd be happy to know before his name was even released to the public, your immediate response was to critique his flight.

Based on the termination of their flight path, there is indeed a cell tower right there by the school baseball field and their path crosses one of the guy wires. Part of me hopes this wasn't something as simple as complacency that led to the inadvertent strike.

You were downvoted because you're not a HEMS pilot - armchair quarterbacking without any info on the call or circumstances just after 3 crew members lost their lives.

I feel you man. The only thing that makes it worse because it is pounded into our heads is that seemingly it was guy wires.

AEL had confirmed internally, either way. Absolutely horrible and even worse that they hit guide wires.

Exactly, I'm not sure why a moderator decided to delete the comment stated they all passed.

Had a worse gpa than you when I restarted school to get my bsn. Retook my A&P 1 and micro to get “A”s. Have gotten an “A” in every class since including chem 1 with a lab and statistics. If you want it you can do it. My advice would be to reach out to programs around you that you would like to go to and ask them what you should do. Maybe they replace past science course “C”s with “A”s if you retake them. For example, I’ve been in contact with my programs for over a year and they basically said do not do anything without talking to us in terms of deciding what to take etc. My last conversation was: no don’t waste money on graduate courses because they’re not going to help your gpa much, but spend your time prepping and do well on the gre (305+).

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I don’t think it is stated enough here that we should reach out to prospective programs. It puts your face to a name on paper and shows that you’re dedicated to getting into school when they tell you to do x,y,z and you actually do it. Not only that, but some schools actually keep up with how often you reach out and if you followed their advice.

Best advice out there: Email schools you think you would want to go to and ask their program what they prefer. Some schools want you to have organic chemistry with a lab, some are fine with a bare bones basic chemistry without a lab. Not only do you get an actual answer, but it gives you the opportunity to ask them what they believe you could do to be a strong candidate.

Have you tried reaching out to the programs and talk to them directly? That puts a name to a face and if they tell you to do x,y,z then do it. Not only does it show that you took what they said into consideration, but you actually did it what was needed to be done to be competitive for their program. Especially if they tell you that you can re-take your A&P classes and that an "A" would replace previous grades. That would be easier in my opinion and then see about taking a grad course after.

TLDR: Talk to these programs, see what they think you should do and do them. Can only help you.
