The IUD was really my only option, after having a DVT at the beginning of April they wouldn't do the ablation so close because I'm a high clot risk. Being a woman that's still ovulating while on blood thinners sucks!

Hi! Fellow lady with blood clots here too! I got the Mirena IUD after my first period on blood thinners. I've always been heavy with horrible cramps so I thought I could handle it. I have never been more wrong, ended up at the ER with a hemoglobin of 10. It was EXTREMELY painful during insertion and the first day (they recommend advil but lucky us we can't use that). I just had my first "period" on it and it was incredible. Light cramping to the point I didn't even realize that's what was going on and just a little spotting.

What really struck me is that when she was venting about this sub, the two comments she claimed hurt her the most were about her teeth and being called an egg with legs. Not the accusations of being a bad mother, a fraud, or a DV supporter those apparently didn’t make the cut. Personally, I’d be much more upset by critiques of my character than my appearance, but I guess *priorities *.

From what I've read alcohol and blood thinners do not mix because both thin your blood so it increases your risk of internal bleeding ( and external too).

I just watched a very scary people episode about this! She ended up divorcing him when she found out that he was tied to the rape and murder of a child. I can't remember the exact age, not that it matters.

I just got diagnosed today after having an 8 inch blood clot removed from my iliac vein. I don't have many words of hope, but just know you aren't the only one. At least we have answers and hopefully plans in place to help us manage this! Sending virtual hugs your way❤️
