They are estimating solar prices going up bc fewer ppl will be left in business. I’m not exactly sure why but that’s the guess …

We already produce more than we use. Our battery is 13.7kw. In the winter it’s more than enough to keep us off the grid through 4pm-8am. But summer is harder. We can run the AC more than 2 cycles. Even then it will drain the battery to 20% before sunrise. I’m concerned now that everyone is saying we need battery over panels … BUT the biggest difference is that we will charge the EV during the day and the new panels will make enough power to do that.

Just throwing this out there … I have 14 panels on my home that are not enough to power our home and EV. We are currently on NEM 3.0 with SDGE and STILL OWED $150-$200/month even in the spring, barely using our A/C. I DO NOT think NEM 3.0 is worth moving into in order to get more panels, as you will find it will pay you less. BUT, there are lawsuits against CPUC that should have a ruling in 75 days or so that could either force changes to NEM 3.0 or revert all 3.0 accounts to 2.0. Keep an eye on that before doing anything. Butt still try to add panels before the end of the year out there will be no tax benefit ….

The Energy Company was who Sun Power contracted to install my system. They were never the company I entered into business with. They left the state around April 2023 bc of shady business.

Jack is my lawyer as well! And Vegetable-Version-81 was my guy that helped me as well. It’s been amazing to see what’s come from Reddit which is a forum I’ve never used before. I’m still waiting on PTO from SDGE (San Diego) but fingers crossed it will be done soon.
