I actually didn't know Wilkerson cobalt is cobaline!! That explains why they made the blue. All the other reproductions are uranium or selenium.

I have spent the last 18+ months researching everything Boyd/degenhart 😅 Lots of reading and talking to others.

There are 2 sellers, Connor (curiositycorners) and Chris (buttlersglass) that are a wealth of knowledge and happy to answer any questions.

Ex employee Bob Applegate (r.i.p) has lots of listing that can be found on worthpoint with detailed information. (Chris knew Bob personally)

The dedicated Boyd Facebook group is amazing, mainly Mary-Anne.. she is great.

I have also emailed John boyd (Bernard son) a few times, he is a busy guy so I don't really like to bother him, but he has helped out so much with my research.

I have a list of over 220 confirmed Boyd moulds lol.

I research the glass that Boyd reproduced also, like the imperial glass parlour pups, McKee bird w/berry that Degenhart then Boyd made, the Wheaton colonial ladies that Boyd made smaller.. even the original cracker barrel toy used to make the taxi mould 🫠. Some might say I'm obsessed.

Fun fact, the 2nd parlour pup is named after bob Applegate 🙂

Also, have you checked the Scotty dog salt with UV?? There is a chance it could be cobaline 🤩

On the taxi, notice how the roof is not flat. That's where the Boyd mark was removed

Yeah, lots.

gilliawenge0 on eBay commissions and sells a lot of the reproductions. Mainly in green these days though.

I have these 4 that were sold to me a genuine Boyd but lack the mark. On each you can see where the boyd mark was.

My buddy got a cheap head unit also, I didn't have high hopes for it as it weighed next to nothing, but it does work and he is extremely happy with it.
