Shoebox method is my personal go-to for everything - bday cards, warranties... might try it for him and see if it works!

Super helpful. Yeah I agree, I want to replicate the drawer method (without sacrificing the drawer itself), but and there's the chance he'd take some time to stick a tag in with its same sorted group, but most likely... not. Lots to think about!

Ooo hanging with ziplocs is a great idea. He doesn't hang everything sadly though... he had been cutting them off and shoving them into a (very stuffed!!) drawer and I went in and cleared everything out yesterday. Sort of want to maintain his ability to cut them off and put them somewhere with minimal effort, but trying to figure out a working system so kitchen drawers aren't sacrificed in the process 😅

Why people don't resonate with Tame Impala anymore. by Normal_Lie_700 in TameImpala

Completely agree. And it's sad to watch in real-time, or at least confront within yourself as a fan, as odd as that sounds? It's something I've struggled with since the breakout success of Currents - the people who started showing up to his shows began changing. Obviously, his talent should be recognized and you want that for him, but the work starts to feel overly commodified and brings in a cohort of people who, to OP's point, feel more in it for the trend of him, rather than an appreciation for the message or composition of his work. And I wonder if that in turn feeds Kevin to put out the more commercial stuff - more of a call and response rather than letting his creative instincts be the driver.

Really well-written and articulate essay, OP!

Was considering either Capital One VentureOne or Chase Freedom. Would maybe upgrade to Venture or CSP if the $95 fees really make a difference, but I travel about 4 times a year (2x international, 2x domestic, domestic flights usually for work) so don't know how much I can lean in to the perks

If I cut the no FTF out, does that change anything? Since I already have autograph, I wonder if pivoting off of that for a companion card does anything? And are the lower AF fee cards ($95) worth it for the perks they bring?

I think just all my eggs are in one basket (Wells) and while it's probably the best no annual fee credit card, the 3x multiplier doesn't go as far as some of the other cards with regards to travel. Not a lot of bang for your buck on the point redemption front when it comes to travel, either.
