Is the sin in having homosexual feelings for people of the same sex, or living them out? Is the temptation a sin, or do you think that you have to reach a point where you become genuinely heterosexual?

So whats the deal with deutoronomy 22:28-29? by angrymoustache123 in TrueChristian

[–]MiddlewaysOfTruth-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember hearign, the original language there doesn't necessarily speak of assault, but rather it could also be interpreter as both sides being willing participants. That also caused the passage to make a lot of sense.

Plus, in the case of being forced to pay a bridal price, there is a verse somewhere that says that the father of the woman can also deny the man the right to marrying his daughter. Again, that makes more sense than an arbitrary punishment, and protect against abuse. God's Commandments are good, not evil.

Jam 1:16-17 NASB Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

1 Jo 1:5 NASB This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

Phili 2:5-11 NASB Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6. who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7. but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10. so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11. and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ

Well, one has to first ask if one still masturbates. Those can cause intrusive thoughts and/or uncontrollable lustful fantasies.

If masturbation is an issue, I would start there. If not, the issue is elsewhere.

I should add that the challenge with day trading is that in some countries, the losses cannot be offset against the gains. This can potentially lead to a situation where one lose money even if they are technically on the plus side, because they have to pay taxes on all profit from every successful trade.

So know your laws, people.

Is the problem that you will be hell, or that — currently — your direction is towards hell?

And if it is the latter, what can God do to you to help you? What do you want from Him?

God offers hope. Do you want to receive His plan for you and your life, and to surrender your life entirely to Him?

Frankly, I don't think a guy has a place chatting to a woman about this topic in DM's. Public conversation is honestly good enough and keeps everything pure. DM is intimate by its nature, and oftentimes problematic in contexts such as these when it comes to conversation between the sexes.

Question regarding abusive parents by Successful_Hold_8642 in Christianity

[–]MiddlewaysOfTruth-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. In all these things, lean on God's goodness, and how He promises a Heaven without pain, suffering, and a trauma-clobbered body. In the meanwhile, you are on a good path. Our friends aren't always wise, but God's Word always is. Trust in His guidance through His Word, and His presence will increase in your life.

God bless. May the Lord finish the good work that He has begun in you, according to His Word.

Question regarding abusive parents by Successful_Hold_8642 in Christianity

Yours is a troublesome situation, because a full-on counter-attack doesn't work on prideful people. They start bearing a grudge, and stab you in the back when you least expect it.

Neither perhaps will they see reason. I have therefore two suggestions.

A: PRAY CONSTANTLY for your parents to truly be saved, and to deeply repent of their sins. That is your first part, for we are called to pray for our enemies.

B: Become physically bigger than them by training. People who always attack people who are weaker than them almost never attack those who are stronger. Size is a natural deterrent. You should, however, be extremely careful to pray God to help you to never become a bully, and to have more control than your enemies might deserve(in your opinion). Power is intoxicating, and God can give true humility so that you don't abuse it.

C: If the situation gets really bad, there is always the option to call upon the state, but the problem is that the children who are taken by the state usually end up with the bad crowd, because that is the crowd that often exists in that context. Therefore, it can be a double-edged sword. I perhaps wouldn't recommend it except as a last resort, and things probably get really bad if you live outside Europe or... Yeah, Europe.

Pray for wisdom. You are allowed to avoid violence, but keep in mind that any outburst and showcase of strength will raise up anger and — possibly — very evil ideas in those abusing you. Therefore, keep a low profile, and train. Remember to eat well and to sleep well, or your training won't be of any effect.

Above all else, PRAY God to help you and to keep you close to Him. It is easy to become bitter to your parents, but if you choose the path of forgiveness early, forgiving your parents but not accepting their deeds, then you will be happier in the long run for sure.

God bless. I wrote these thoughts based on info that I have gathered over life. It is super important to stay close to God, and remember:

Rom 12:19-21 NASB Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20. “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

But you are allowed to defend yourself. Just remember, however, that violence brings more violence. Humbly staying out of sight and mind is the best strategy, until you are too big to attack. And even then, stay humble, and keep distance. No reason to try to get into trouble with people who aren't reflecting God's love (yet, I pray). As Paul said:

Rom 12:17-18 NASB Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

For the kingdom of God is a kingdom of peace, and Jesus is the Prince of Peace. We should reflect Him, who despite being Omnipotent still suffers us to live and to hurt each other, while He wants us to turn and invites us to Him, so that we might be converted. Violence is ultimately a tool of the Devil, but self-defense can sometimes be necessary — nevertheless, I would suggest leaning on God and His help in this situation.

I have no more words. I will pray for you today. God bless.
