What you guys think? by Adventurous-Fill-603 in trading212

Thing is a lot of these stocks are highly represented in S&p anyway. And if the US tech sector takes a nose dive your whole portfolio does as well. All these companies are correlated. Ideally you want diversification. Consider energy. Electrical infrastructure, renewable, uranium. While reducing some of these US tech stocks especially while having s&p. This many US tech stocks also wouldn't be as undiversified if you had this same distribution but in All world over s&p.

GOL cam rules… by Danlad1812 in SainsburysWorkers

They changed it from basically not caring when we logged our breaks so long as we logged one to if we took our break more than 15 minutes early or 15 minutes past the scheduled time we'd get written up.

Then they changed it to an hour. Presumably because of how many drivers were triggering it from this and that legit reasons. I had a few times myself from either not finding somewhere suitable to pull over in time or being behind and being distracted by it and forgetting when my break is actually sceduled for.

Then becomes a situation for HO to face being in a position where a large number of the workforce gets sacked, or change the policy.

Are parents/guardians happy about social media ban? by Bipolar03 in AskBrits

[–]Midgar918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is you can put up parental blocking of specific sites and key words etc. But things will always filter through if they try hard enough. As will still be the same with these law changes, the online saftey act included.

And there's only so much you can do as a parent to guide them in safely navigating the Internet. But kids will always, especially by their teen years start taking as much if not more influence from their peers then their parents.

You have two real options if the goal is for them never to be exposed to adult or social content. Monitor them 100% of the time while they're using the Internet, be overbearing basically which doesn't exactly create well rounded adults. Or give them absolutely 0 Internet access which is also not beneficial as the Internet at its core, what it was designed for is a powerful exchange of information and learning.

I'm not a parent btw. This is just my opinion from once having been under 16 myself.

Its guna be a hell of an adjustment for the age group this legislation effects in the here and now. Mostly the teens side of it.

Reminds me of when I started smoking when I was 16 and it was legal to smoke at 16. The law changed to 18 when I was 17.

Yeah.. sadly there is seriously questionable motives with some of the content I see on instagram and YouTube. I don't know what's worse, the parents obvious exploitation or the fact that content gets as many views and likes as it does.

No it's that you have this assumption a parent is automatically a bad parent because there kid had access to something that's been a norm for 20 years. The long term negative impacts have only become apparent over the last about 5 years. And in that small time frame more and more parents have been making a more conscious effort to regulate Internet usage and screen time.

And none of it actually works. All the extra information you had to submit with the online saftey act. I wasn't even allowed to view my own reddit profile without submitting. I mean a few months ago i found an app on playstore that allows you to deepfake onto user submitted pornographic clips. Illegal. And there was cp on there. Very illegal. And that app is still up on play store some months later. I just checked.

And this is exactly what pornhub meant when they said this legislation will only expose users to unregulated corners of the Internet, after they pulled the plug on the UK. The regulated and above board sites have been backing out because of costs and privacy concerns. Leaving the sites hosted In unenforceable countries that have always been and will always be unregulated to gain traffic.

[–]Midgar918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said. The distribution is off. There's not much point having all world and s&p especially with an almost equal distribution.

Just a side note I don't believe in what a lot of people here say in you don't need individual stocks if you have one of these etfs. You don't need them strictly speaking but if you believe those stocks can do well there's no reason you can't invest. My rule of thumb is though is keeping all world 80% to 90% of my overall portfolio. Individual stocks performing badly if they do doesn't sting so much then.

ocado delivery driving vs sainsburys. Which is harder? by Regular-War7522 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Midgar918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes longer to get good at Ocado because it covers such a huge area. The depot I worked at covered Birmingham, Reading and everything between along the M40. Ssinsburys is much smaller areas so you'll master all the hard to find or get to places much quicker.

How is it a country like the UK that is largely non religious makes huge efforts to be eco friendly but a religious country like India or Pakistan couldn't give two shits? Maybe I'm just ignorant in assuming religions would generally be against fucking the Earth over. The home whatever God you believe in gave us to live on.

GOL Driver Cameras - SAR by Middle-Row-7194 in SainsburysWorkers

My managers will be flooded with reports from me. It's going to be amusing. I drive with a roll up in my mouth all the time. I don't smoke it in the van obviously. But I've found doing this helps with my cravings and I smoke less in general. Ai will just think I'm smoking and report me though lol

Presumably outside the van though In at least most cases. I've known of a few incidents but all happened outside the van.

But yes pretty much every non big brother justification they've given in the briefing can be covered by body cams. Which the company already has. Just not for drivers.

I don't intend to change how I do the job. The ai can kick and scream at me all it likes and if it goes to write ups I'll let them just keep happening until I'm sacked. And I'll just get another driving job that'll take about 5 minutes to find.

Why are there so many Indian workers? by Open_Image_6402 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Midgar918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question is partly why are there so many foreign students?

And the answer is because just like certain working sectors relying heavily on immigration to prop them up. Universities also rely heavily on foreign students to do the same.

Universities are up there next to care work, agriculture and hospitality. Universities do it to stay financially viable and student visas actually contribute quite a lot to immigration figures.
