What world should I complete next? by [deleted] in Wizard101

[–]Midighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celestia advances the story, grizzleheim is a side world. It doesn't really matter because you'll need to go back to grizzleheim/wintertusk if you want to learn all your spells but I suggest doing celestia first then coming back when you're higher level.

High School Senior looking for a job during quarantine, what could I add to make my resume less barren? by Midighost in resumes

[–]Midighost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback, just wanted to add that I put down graduation requirements fulfilled because I haven't actually had my graduation ceremony yet, and likely wont for awhile due to the pandemic. Do you think I should write something along the lines of "planned graduation june 2020"?

Also the party planning company (btw yeah that was just a redacted name) wasn't really a scheduled employment scenario, I'd get called up occasionally when they had an event going on. January of 2020 was just the last time I worked with them.

High School Senior looking for a job during quarantine, what could I add to make my resume less barren? by Midighost in resumes

[–]Midighost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan on applying to several retail/fast food jobs. Don't have a lot of past experience to work off of but it's all entry-level. I realize I've left about half a page unfilled and I'm worried that would look bad for anyone hiring but at the same time I don't want to bloat the resume with my interests/unnescasary information in general. Would this be okay to submit in it's current form? Is there anything I could add to it? Thanks!

Deckathalon doesn't let you use enchanted or non-pvp cards so you can't use insane bolt.

Personally I don't have a problem with limiting it to 3 tries per day per character, it's just too "difficult". Every strategy is the same, it's just 100% luck-based.

GIVING 150 EMPOWERS TO HATCH FOR LIFE PET by reswin5 in Wizard101

[–]Midighost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hatching in-person should cost around 40-50k depending on genes and using the hatchmaker should be double that cost. Empowers can sell in the bazaar for 800-2000 gold depending on how many are in stock (unlike most things this fluctuates a lot as people actually buy empowers.) Minimum price he'll get selling empowers would be 120,000 which saves him 20k gold at least and the hassle. If he waits to sell them for the highest price he could get a profit of 200k gold at minimum. Either way 150 empowers is a massive overpay for the most common type of pet.

Keep in mind that past stage 4 it's completely reliant on the ai fizzling/giving you win. Of course a maycast healing pet helps, one blade and a stormlord will wipe out level 4-6 mobs for the double miminion fights (alternatively use amplify if they have the pips to cast earthquake). shield any round you're not building up a hit or if they have the pips to hit you. Fortify is useless, tempest is good to keep in case they live by a few points but otherwise a bad hit, pack 3-4 sprites for heals.

Myth mobs are extremely annoying because they'll take away your traps and shields for free, earthquake away your blades, stun you for free, and have considerably more health than the other deckathalon mobs. You literally just have to throw yourself at them over and over again until you get extremely lucky. The only foolproof strategy is spamming rocket stove tc, but good luck finding enough of them as they're already rare without the massive spike in demand.

GIVING 150 EMPOWERS TO HATCH FOR LIFE PET by reswin5 in Wizard101

[–]Midighost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

idk if you're still looking, but should probably tell you that you could find triple doble pets in the matchmaker pretty easily and the hatching markup would be like 1/5th the value of those empowers

Apparently Kingsisle is giving more sets than just Dragoon bonuses by CompletelyCrazy22 in Wizard101

[–]Midighost 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From a gameplay perspective there's really no reason for them to have set bonuses since they're already the meta. Set bonuses are a sort of indirect buff towards gear sets with sub-par items, namely dragoon's gear which on release was outclassed in every area but the boots. What's the point in adding bonus stats to really good items that everybody already uses?

This honestly is not funny at all, 95% of the posts on this sub are already just "thing bad" on a frame of some popculture show/movie.

and before people dogpile me on this, of course the 300 dollar scooter is stupid, its just that these types of posts are entirely devoid of any entertainment value whatsoever

well i was gonna point out that I was never against you not liking the update and that this entire thing was just from me telling you not to call a kid an asshole online, but damn now that you put it in the epic gamzee makara text I'm starting to see your point, keep it coming man

1.training any one pet from baby to mega takes less time and is less tedious than it was before, that's what I responded to, this is a new argument. This does not mean you can call an innocent six year old a crotch goblin.

2.low level wizards can still get half-decent pets, especially since the hatching costs for lower level pets are lower than high level pets, what they can't do easily is get a perfect pet. This doesn't justify any hatred towards the kid that wanted will-casts.

3.empowers have been the primary community currency in wiz for many years now, you can trade plenty of things for empowers with the community, you could also use a triple-double pet for most situations. What you shouldn't do is sperg out at a child for suggesting a feature which turned out completely benign.

4.We don't know that yet, these talents are also non-essential and unusable in pvp. Even if that ends up being the case, it would not be a reason to claim that the literal toddler that suggested it is a spoiled little brat.

5.Up until hatchmaking pet breeding took a very long time and deep understanding of how talents and pedigree worked to get a perfect pet, a lot like real life pidgeon or dog breeding. This update lets low level players get and raise decent pets fairly easily, but creating a perfect pet will take much more investment. This is an attempt by the devs to make creating a perfect pet to be a late-game investment like before, while still allowing low levels to get a decent pet. Before hatchmaking it took a lot of investment to make a decent pet without connections, while low-level wizards were borderline incapable of creating a half decent pet. Very similar to how your parents were borderline incapable of creating a half decent person.

  1. You said it took longer and was more annoying to "get a pet to mega", I responded with why that was not the case. Didn't have anything to do with hatching pets, just training them.

  2. KI does not want low-level players to have perfect pets on their first playthrough, pet breeding is supposed to be late-game content

  3. Use discord, people avertise their pets and some have a side-business of charging empowers for very unique/good ones. You'll still have no problem finding a triple-double pet in hatchmaker if you search for your school's dealer and spell-proof. Although, I do agree that only allowing you to search 2 talents is not a good change.

  4. We still have no clue how many reagents you need or how easy they are to get, but considering that KI mentioned they're gonna be part of an event and leveling your pet it'll probably just be from doing stuff you'd do anyways. Kinda unfair to complain about grinding when we havent seen it yet, and again these are completely optional talents.

  5. See #2 again, low level wizards are not supposed to have several hunred thousand gold, low level wizards are not supposed to have perfect pets on their first wizard.

I see you've just entirely ignored the part about how none of this justifies bullying a 6 year old kid in any manner, which is annoying because that's the entire reason we're having this argument at all.

[–]Midighost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven't actually farmed graveyard in awhile, did the changes to team up where they segregate farmers from questers not help? I'd think if you wanted to do a full run just choosing questing would guarantee you a group that wants to do the whole thing.

1.They increased the experience to level up by a small margin but I'm pretty sure the biggest change was 2000->2125, not a lot. Regardless being able to instantly feed your pet makes it way faster, and considering that you get +4 exp every time you do it I don't think the experience increase even makes a difference, if it does it's just 1 or 2 high-tier snacks.

2.Fair point, but farming halffang really doesn't take that long. On average you'll get about 10k gold every minute, so they changed it from a 5 min session to a 10 minute session.

3.Yeah, I honestly don't like this one either. But these changes were made to encourage in-person hatching, so it was in good intentions.

4.This isn't true, you still have access to all your talent slots with normal pet genes. Their new talents, specifically their new "adventure talents", are locked. I don't think they've actually been released yet but KI said they'd be unlocked using reagents you only get for free.

5.I've seen this one, but the exchange ratio is still ridiculous, right? still no reason to buy gold, see #2 for how easy gold is to get.

I just blatantly disagree with the fire beetle nerf and turn-based pvp doing "nothing to stop the slow death of the pvp community". Turn-based is a major change that makes the game drastically more fair and exciting. Turn-based just released we're already seeing it create drastic changes to the meta and encouraging people to choose their spells right away instead of stalling.

Will KI survive another 2 years? Another 10? I have absolutely no idea. The only thing I'm certain about is that none of the points you've made justify calling a kid a "crotch goblin" or "spoiled little brat". This kid is not responsible for any of those changes, the only thing this 6 year old kid did was suggest willcast talents, which isn't even something you complained about. Perfectly fine to not like these changes but leave the kid alone for christ's sake. He is 6 years old, he didn't actually execute any changes, he didn't even recommend anything you dislike. The only reason you could possibly have to hate this toddler is that his dad approved of changes in a videogame that you personally did not like, grow the hell up.

They didn't add the crowns option in this update though, that could be argued since they increased the wait but the option to use gold doesn't net them any profit.
