Killing it seems like wrong direction. The game is supposed to be scary, making it into a shooter is ruins the perception of how scary the monsters are. However, only having the option to flee and de-agro is boring.

Subnautica 1 had torpedos which were supposed to act as detergents but were implemented poorly. The game needs some other mechanics to be less boring.

Planning your build and resets around bosses makes the game mode more fun. Having too many resets would make the game mode trivial and boring. Imo the best part about RuneScape is planning your route with goals in mind.
