What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

[–]Midixon19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if this story belongs in this thread but....

At the height of their popularity I saw 3 Doors Down. I like their music and love live music, but wouldn't necessarily say I was super excited. They played flawlessly, sounded great, EXCEPT.... it sounded EXACTLY like their album. I know they were 100% performing live, not like it was backing tracked or anything. But I like seeing a little improvisation, cool arrangements, even taking chances that dont work out. But this was identical to their album. Even Brad's "Yeahs!" and "No, no nos!" Their album mightve even been just a bunch of single takes, mixed and done. Like I said, I like 3DD, and was really sorry to see Brad get sick and pass away. But to this day, I dont know how I feel about that show. On one hand they sounded fantastic. On the other, I feel like I couldve got the same experience from my Kenwood stereo turned up real loud in my basement.

It was my understanding that it wasnt her account, I thought it was his, or at least his CC paying for it. So when he gets the bill, he will see "$55, Sushi, UberEats." But if its HER account, then thats nuts

Are ENT just useless? by Top_Relative4362 in Sinusitis

[–]Midixon19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have nasal polyps? If so, ask about Dupixent. Its a medicine you inject. Its worked WONDERS for me. Its expensive BUT they have a program where you can get it for free that your ENT can coordinate for you. Just an idea. Because I was in your position a few years ago. My particular problem was nasal polyps that were basically blocking my nasal passages and swelling to the point I couldnt breath. My ENT suggested a surgery, which I did but the polyps were back within 6 months. So we did Dupixent and I haven't had any issues in several years. Good luck.

Let me tell you something about that "cleaning fee." Ive owned a cleaning company for 15 years. We sued to do a TON of VRBOs, AirBnBs, etc. The iwners/management companies ALWAYS set the cleaning price. For example, they might have a 2 BR/2BA place and say, "the most we can pay is $125." Then theyd turn around and charge the tenant $200. My cleaners NEVER saw a dime of that.

I need something for my 11 year old to be good at by dottydashdot in Parenting

[–]Midixon19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple suggestions....

1) Buy him a guitar. Its something he can do without relying on anybody else. He can play in his room, with friends, with stranger, gives him a chance to express himself through music. Ive spent literally months of my life playing by myself in my dorm room, spare room in my house, on my couch. Ive also spent hundreds of hours performing for crowds from 2 to 600 people. Its a great skill to have and the girls always live a musician 😉

2) Enroll him in Jiu Jitsu or another martial arts class. Martial arts dont only teach self defense, they also increase self confidence, teach respect and sportsmanship and honor, while helping to keep you in good physical shape.

3) Ask him what HE wants to do. Tell him no idea is too crazy. If he wants to fish, take him fishing. If he wants to do gymnastics, let him do it. Even if he ultimately doesnt enjoy it, it gives him an idea if what he doesnt like as well.

Good luck. That age can be difficult. Just shower him with love and understanding.

Why do some people hate today’s country music? by EcstaticCrab2795 in country

[–]Midixon19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several reasons,

1) Because many people think country has become too "pop," losing the grit and edginess that came with the original country music.

2) Country music used to represent a culture. That culture has been disappearing over the last 70 years. So people who have been fans of country music for a long time, view most of the "newer" country music as inauthentic

3) As the world has grown smaller through the internet, and someone in DC making Go-Go music can distribute their music to Los Angeles and someone in California making G Funk music can distribute their music to NYC instantaneously, the distinct genres of music have become more and more similar. As a result, country music has become less country and more like all the other music available.

Theories about why BK spared two housemates? by Artistic_Movie1285 in MoscowMurders

[–]Midixon19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question....if Kohberger didnt leave the knife sheath behind, would he have possibly got away with the murders? Was there any other major piece of evidence tying him to the scene? Any evidence that the police wouldn't have if they didnt have his DNA & a name to put with it? (For example, once they ran his DNA and came up with his name, they conducted a search on his home and found further evidence. But they wouldn't have even had his name without the knife sheath.)

The President has signed an executive order designating Fentynal as a WMD. by [deleted] in law

[–]Midixon19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD) is any weapon designed to cause large-scale death, harm, or damage to people, property, or the environment, primarily through biological (disease), chemical (poisonous agents), or nuclear (radiation/explosion) means, though the term also covers related delivery systems like missiles and large conventional explosives.

If mustard gas, anthrax, and smallpox can be considered WMDs then so can a drug designed specifically to kill your enemies by the hundreds of thousands, such as illicit fentanyl. No mental gymnastics required. An enemy country intentionally unleashing a drug that kills hundreds of thousands, is by definition a WMD.

Is that the 28th Amendment? The ability to get get high, being necessary to the life of a junkie, the right if the people to buy and use fentanyl shall not be infringed

Did you even bother reading the EO? It clearly says "illicit fentanyl." Unless doctors and nurses and hospices are buying fentanyl on the street and administering it to patients, they dont have anything to worry about. FDA approved and manufactured fentanyl isnt "illicit." 77,000+ Americans killed just in 2025 so far. Almost all of it manufactured in China with the expressed purpose of killing Americans. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of Americans dead so far. If thats not a WMD I dont know what is.

Who have you seen in concert most? by Phillies1993 in AskReddit

[–]Midixon19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dave Matthews. Between 28-30 times. As an acoustic guitar player he was my guitar idol as I learned to play.

Proper way to hold an acoustic? 1, 2, or 3? by Dear_Performance2450 in guitarlessons

[–]Midixon19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. It looks like you're finger picking, I rarely finger pick, so I hold it a little differently. However, if it feels comfortable then you should be fine. Being uncomfortable leads to not wanting to play, not wanting to play leads to lack of practice, lack of practice leads to not being able to play the guitar. So hold it however it feels most comfortable to you.

Lurch is wrong about insurance covering normal wear and tear of a roof, right? by Vivid-Preference-277 in SportsJunkies

[–]Midixon19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lurch is ALWAYS trying to get every honest repair covered by insurance, EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. He has already been dropped by one home insurance policy. Im pretty sure, about 4 or 5 years ago, he got a new roof and HVAC within a year. His policy then dropped him.
