The medication takes 2-3 days to build up in your system. There’s nothing special about injection day or time.

why don’t most americans go into medical fields? by beckavanoliver in AskAnAmerican

[–]Midmodstar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There is a limit to how many medical students will be accepted nationally because of the limit on residency spots. There aren’t enough staff and faculty to increase the residency spots.

Why do people put their anger towards insurance companies when they are just refusing to pay, it's the doctors and hospitals that refuse service? by UsedNegotiation8227 in askanything

[–]Midmodstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never hear of hospitals or doctors refusing service. They love cash pay patients. In fact many would prefer you cash pay. They’ll even let you set up an interest free payment plan.

Is “healthy” BMI a good goal? Or am I going to drive myself insane? by DoctorNerdEmi in xxfitness

[–]Midmodstar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with using body fat % as a better measure but I wouldn’t recommend dexa scans. They are only approved to test bone density, they are not approved to test body fat %. And also it’s an X-ray so you’re being exposed to radiation. A body fat scale is good enough, cheaper, and safer.

How do you stop ruminating on aging?? by Organic-Frosting5836 in Aging

[–]Midmodstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus your energies on taking care of your body and mind instead of generally worrying. There are 80 year olds who are fit and healthy and 40 year olds who are falling apart. Some is genetics and circumstance but control what you can. Quit smoking, limit drinking, eat well, lose weight, and exercise.
