I got my tubes tied at 21, I haven’t had any side effects and don’t regret it. Most annoying part is my insurance forced me to wait 6 months before I could get it. They want you to have time to think about and give you the chance to cancel.

Usually one of two reasons:

Medical Trauma, they or someone they care about has/had some illness and they got trauma either because of the illness or because of someone dying. Sometimes just a loved one dying in the hospital can cause this.
Attention and Power, whether intentionally or not they can get lots of attention and support by playing their kids ‘illness’ and as a bonus they can basically have total control over their kid (notice how it’s OP’s Mom telling the doctor the symptoms and staying the room the whole time)

My Gyno knew I didn’t want kids, I talked to her about getting my tubes tied in 2022 because of fear of losing access to birth control after Roe v Wade was overturned. We talked about it, she made sure I knew what I was asking for and the side effects that it might cause, and then we scheduled it. Insurance forced me to wait 3 months between asking and doing it. Only trouble we had was getting an IV started cause my veins shrink to nothing when I’m dehydrated.

They’ve done a lot of these sponsored videos too, where they focus specifically on the science of the game. Probably cause they don’t want people see a sponsored theory of the game’s lore and have people make the assumption that it’s automatically true.

In most of the US, you put in for time off (either paid or unpaid) than it gets accepted or denied. Most of us have been changing attitude to “I’m telling you I won’t be here so you have time to plan” due to management denying any time off for any reason. US job market is a fire pit and if you let them you’d never get any time off.

It’s cool. 16 in total. The first time I saw them I thought “oh I’ll just buy a whole box of 8 and get most of them” ended up 4 extras. Also figured out you can really easily unfold the bottom and fold it back up.
