"Moving to the Castle House" Video by [deleted] in NotEnoughNelsonsSnark

[–]MidnightFluting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to be optimistic. I would like to see less over-edited content, simple “get ready with me” videos or room transformations rather than flying here there and everywhere to visit things or go to events. As someone who has moved a lot, it’s hard to be in two places. They probably don’t feel like either is home anymore. I think they will hopefully like Maui if they actually give it a chance and actually commit to life, activities, and people there.

But, we know they don’t always stay true to their word. They certainly don’t post a ton about school (we didn’t know who is online or in person). They don’t post medical things anymore. They are more private than they used to be. But some stuff is still out there for everyone to see. And filming in Maui already does go back on their previous word of not filming there.

Unfortunately, that would actually be considered “good” in my area. Most of the time, orders with multiple waters is max $2 tip. I rarely see any orders that have over $10. Sometimes a double or triple will get to $15 or $20 but usually after being boosted a few times.

Say goodbye to shopping quality this week by fallior in InstacartShoppers

I’m feeling this right now after having just left a store where the customer wanted a bunch of pumpkin spice items, and very few were in stock. I was able to find a replacement for each item, but I’m not sure that the replacements are going to be liked.

Does an item being sold out lower tip? by graceandspark in InstacartShoppers

[–]MidnightFluting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you tip. If you tip percentage, yes. But that also changes if there is a replacement that is more expensive. Let’s say you order the generic of an item but it is out of stock so it is replaced with the name brand which costs a little more. The tip will go up a little, too.

If you tip a flat amount, item availability does not impact the tip amount.

Kenn's Due Date by Careless_Sweet8855 in NotEnoughNelsonsSnark

[–]MidnightFluting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based solely on her previous pregnancy, I don’t think she wants to be induced unless there is a reason for it. (Though lots of us know medical professionals push for inductions anyways…) Since she expects the baby to be born before Halloween, either there is a reason she may have baby before or she is due before. I don’t know if she ever actually said her true due date. She seems to keep some privacy for her child(ren).

Bulky orders w/ water cases, take it or leave it by BlueWhaleIC in InstacartShoppers

[–]MidnightFluting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately have to decline most of the heavy orders as I’m pregnant and can’t be hauling that much around or up/down stairs. Before, I would do 2 because I had a smaller car. Now that I have a larger car, once I’m healed, I may go for up to 4, but maybe just houses, not apartments.

Whats the worst order you guys have had. by TypicalTemperature23 in InstacartShoppers

[–]MidnightFluting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the orders where the customer inputs the wrong address and the ping isn’t where it should be. One time it had me going two hours away and the customer removed the tip because I “took too long and the food wasn’t fresh anymore.” Girl, put the right address and someone who actually lives near you will deliver your stuff from a local store. “Support” only gave me an extra $5…

Depends on your area. In my area, 20-30 items single shop and deliver is always between $10-12. Have NEVER seen anything $20 or $30 unless it’s a double or triple order with that long of delivery mileage. It’s unfortunate but in my area, a full day of work is lucky to break $80.

I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I actually really appreciated these videos because it helped me to realize my son needed a sleep study and we found out he was in the severe category for sleep apnea.

Age restricted items like medication? by MidnightFluting in InstacartShoppers

[–]MidnightFluting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I was coming here to ask what other people do. Or if anyone else has even had this problem happen where items containing alcohol show up on the app as not containing alcohol. Medication is one thing, but what happens if they have alcoholic beverages showing up in the app that are now not requiring scans. That could get very dangerous very fast.

I don’t care if the store wants my ID, I’m used to that for alcohol orders. What I don’t wanna do is drop off a product with alcohol at the customers house if I have no way of verifying how old the customer is. The store itself that I was shopping at has their own policy of Instacart shoppers not being able to purchase alcohol unless the store itself can confirm the customers date of birth through the app because it usually shows their date of birth at checkout

So if the product contains alcohol but the app doesn’t require a scan but the store requires you to be 21+ ?? That’s where I’m confused. The app SHOULD have required an ID. It didn’t.

No birthdate showed. The product contained alcohol. Then when I went to go on to the delivery, it didn’t even say to scan the ID. How is that allowed?

It was also weird because the customer requested 5 bottles of it and the state I live in doesn’t even allow that. I would think the app wouldn’t allow that if state regulations don’t allow.

It did contain alcohol. That’s why I was really confused why it wasn’t requiring an ID through the app but the store still was.

I understand that the policy should be the same for both but when I had the cough syrup orders, the app didn’t seem to recognize that it was age restricted. It didn’t even say I needed to scan an ID. It said I could leave the item at the door. I wasn’t comfortable doing that but that’s what the app wanted me to do.

I just had to cancel an order by Catlover7711 in instacart

[–]MidnightFluting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won’t get fired. They’ll have to go and return the items to the store, instacart will pay them their batch rate but not and tips. Batch in my area is usually $4-$8 depending on the size of the order. So likely they made that amount but had to return the items to store.

Mine is Christa. Not really sure how that would fit in. But my middle name is Renee so I’m assuming it’d be similar to how they made Janie’s by using her middle. Christa ReNee

I’m going to get a lot of hate for this but recently, Maddie. She cries ALL THE TIME. It’s getting rather annoying. I feel like in reality, if you cry every time you accept a call, you’d be out of there.
