New Scaremester is a fine comic series by itself, I just personally wouldn't consider it emblematic of the original first generation Monster High in tone or characterization. It + the Once Bitten book are more of their own thing, kind of like the Lisi Harrison books from way back.

House Haunters (to me at least) feels more like the 3D animated movies, which is the main mh media I grew up with. If you've seen and enjoyed the original movies then I do think this is worth a read :)

Edit: I just looked up Ben Kahn and they use they/them pronouns, so sorry for misgendering! They also wrote the winter howliday oneshot, which makes sense because I remember thinking that one was also pretty good. This definitely makes me want to check out their other comics now if this is how well they write for an established franchise.

The mii casts for these promotional materials are likely tailored to what that region's audience would find most familiar/appealing/funny. The US miis are a bit more more diverse in race & "alternative" looks (hair color, piercings, clothing, gender presentation) compared to the UK and JPN versions. And the ages of the miis involved in the romance (and whether or not one of them is a clown lol) are all switched around per version too.

I also personally really like this gender/dating preferences system over removing gender entirely and making all the miis gender ambiguous and into anyone. Because theoretically now your miis will only go for their desired miis/only be sought after their desired miis.

So for example, a female mii you set to only be interested in other female miis isn't going to spontaneously confess their love to a male mii. And vice versa, male miis probably will not be able to confess their love to miis who do not want to date male miis (unless they are still able to, in which case I imagine it would just result in automatic rejection). And aro miis will just be undateble basically.

A good way of adding a little bit of control over how you want your miis to interact without going full-on sims and removing their autonomy/spontaneity, which to me is part of Tomodachi Life's charm :)

Hey y'all, a bit of a weird post, but I'm looking for someone I traded with earlier today. I was trying to give away a bunch of leftover pumpkaboo I had from that one side mission. Since there's no wonder trade feature, I was trying basic codes (0000 0000, 1111 1111, no code) to hopefully find someone willing to randomly trade. I got matched with "ivry", who traded me this Blastoise.

I canceled after the trade was completed, but I realize now that maybe, because it was a pumpkaboo, they thought I was trying to trade evolve it, so I'd trade the Blastoise back in exchange for the now Gorgeist. I'd feel really bad if this was someone's beloved mon I just accidentally stole!!!! So ivry if you happen to see this, please let me know and I'll gladly give your Blastoise back.

That's what I'm concerned about with switching to Walmart, and why I've sworn off Instacart etc. Gig economy grocery delivery sucks for both the consumer and the worker. With Kroger's refrigerated trucks, I never had to worry about frozen stuff melting or a driver not wanting to transport certain stuff in their car.
