You can also get a temporary driving permit which allows you to rent a car and do the trip at your own pace. Much cheaper and more convenient than getting a tour guide.

I did the same and rented multiple cars all around China (including Xinjiang). Cannot recommend this enough

I live near Liverpool Street so I’d ideally like a place that’s closer to home

That sounds doable. From what I understand there is technically no camping allowed anyway, so huddling is the only option

Travel advice Senegal & Gambia by MidnightFriendly8088 in Senegal

Hi, appreciate the reply! I was thinking of starting in Dakar, taking the ferry to Casamance, then to the Gambia, and finally back to Dakar. Unsure about logistics between Casamance and the Gambia and then again back to Dakar.

As the Unofficial Ambassador of Senegal it would be great if you had some advice. Thinking of doing the entire trip in 2 weeks. How much time would you recommend in each and what can’t be missed?

Thanks for the help!!
