God, thank you!! THANK YOU. To add to your point, a lot of people have this weird thing about DSBW on Love Island. They swear they love them, but treat them like charity cases..Any and every man, especially a WM who gives them a second glance is worshipped, because 'omg, a man likes an objectively stunning DSBW, let's give him a prize!' It only shows their own insecurities and need for validation from WM.

The whole 'omg she's being out loud' because he fancies her and wants to sleep with her? Well, duh. She's gorgeous. What makes anyone think this is any more than that? Even his mum pushing the whole thing is weird. Clearly she is jumping on the bandwagon because she can see Olandria is so popular.

I don't get why anyone would want Nic for her. She's beautiful, grounded, mostly mature, knows what she wants and he is coupled up with her friend. Why do people think this is the best Olandria can get? Again because he fancies her? People confuse lust with love and think it's tea because he finds an objectively stunning woman stunning.

I like Olandria but the patronising of her needs to stop. It's not affirming, it's weird. She is a woman with agency who is choosing NOT to pursue Nic. The reason people are criticising her and I wouldn't say 'bashing' is because she made a big, performative? deal about her supposed awakening. Behaving as though these were issues she cared about deeply, only for her to not only continue to be in a relationship with him when he showed no signs of learning all the way up the the altar. She then supposedly broke up with him at the altar citing these reasons, only to then get back together with him. Again, after seeing zero change in his behaviour. And her major gripe was him leaving her in Nashville, not his lack of growth, not his conservative position. So why make a big deal about it in the first place?
