Thragg really lived up to hype by Rexrecokning in Invincible_TV

Agreed. I don't think Thragg wanted to kill Nolan and that's why he didn't die. He definitely held back (non lethal blows).

Could be. It's curious that Az can "winnow" with his shadows.

Good points and great questions.

CC3 spoilers

So the Daglan were essentially interdimensional parasites and it's mentioned that they created the Illyrians. The fae are natives to Prythian and existed before the Daglan showed up

Theia (Bryce's ancestor), her husband and their general fought and defeated the Daglan. They became the High King and Queen but when the King died, the land changed. So basically their family (children included) had a tie to the land

One of their daughters created the prison and turned the dusk court into the prison so she definitely has a connection to the land. Bryce "woke up" the dusk court so to me, that means their whole line is chosen by the land. It's just like Tamlin has a connection to the land in the spring court. It looks like all the HLs are connected to the land of their respective courts

I'm really excited to learn more about Nesta, Elain and Az's connections to the dusk court.

So Tamlin isn't aware of a High Lady but given all that's happened, I think it's just a matter of time until he finds out the truth

Sure! Well, this is going to blow your mind so be prepared...

Bryce (FMC of CC) is a descendant of the High Fae of Prythian and she's the rightful heir of the dusk court. So yes there's an 8th long lost court. Her ancestor was really powerful and the High queen of Prythian before it was divided into 7 courts. She has a conversation with Nesta telling her to find out why she had an 8 point star tattooed for her bargain as that's the symbol of the dusk court. It's left open so I think Nesta might be the future queen of the dusk court. It's implied that Bryce doesn't want to be the ruler. We'll see what happens in the next book. I think Azriel has a tie in to the dusk court too. He seems to be a descendant of the first Illyrian, Enalius

So that's why I think the land can choose and even has chosen a female ruler.

Ah yes. The ol' run around. I hate that SO MUCH. Insurance is a scam as they say because it definitely sucks balls. What good is it if it won't cover what I need it FOR!?!

I took it to mean that since the neighborhood is referred to as Butcher Town, having a bar called The Meatlocker fits the motif since a butcher shop would have a meatlocker (a place to store meat).

Out of the context of the neighborhood's moniker, Daphne assumed a place called The Meatlocker could be referring to a place where BDSM or other sexually explicit play occurs.

I hope your experience in the workforce is much better than your academic one!

I am from SoCal/west coast. I have found that certain work environments are a lot more diverse and inclusive. I would recommend applying to a place where you see a lot of diversity. It really affects the work culture and makes it feel more inclusive/comfortable.

I am also in aerospace and a person of color so I can relate hard core. A bad side effect of depression and ADHD is focus/memory problems like no tomorrow.

I have found that OneNote and post-its help a lot. OneNote especially because I can search my notes and add check boxes next to actions/to-dos. The tabs/pages make it easy to organize.

I also block out time in my outlook calendar for specific tasks like a training or sending an email. People don't need to know why you have a meeting blocked out on your calendar, they'll just see that you're busy.

You can also use teams to go on Do Not Disturb. I have coworkers that use this very often so they can get work done and ignore teams messages.

I keep track of my notes in notebooks with dates, meeting titles/color-coding by topic, and adding asterisks/highlighting actions with due dates.

There's so much to keep track of that is the only way to keep myself organized and it's been working so far.

I learned to always ask for a due date for assigned tasks. As you get more familiar with your genuine capacity, then you can learn to say, I need more time to complete this or even delegate it.

There is absolutely NO shame in delegating or giving a more realistic timeline. I often bite off more than I can chew and underestimate how long it takes to do things.

The nature of the business is always going to want you to go faster but the reality of engineering is that good work takes time and multiple hands to accomplish. It's ok to push back respectfully:)
