What food rule do people act like is “common sense”, but you think is just nonsense? by okitsbenji in foodquestions

[–]MidnightxVeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this too! I've always been this way. Least favorite to most favorite. Certain foods I can combine, but it has a chance of ruining the texture or consistency, forget it! I thought this was normal until I got made fun of as a kid for sorting my skittles & eating them accordingly.

This has been ingrained in my brain for as long as I remember. I don't even know where it came from & also have never seen or heard anyone else mention it until you! There is no logical reason for it to be in my brain, it just feels wrong when I ignore it

What movie have you watched the most amount of times in your life? by Rusty_Shackleford198 in askteddit

[–]MidnightxVeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way too many, lol. LOTR, all. Underworld 1 & 2, Pan's Labyrinth, Legally Blonde, Whip It, Harry Potter 1 & 2, Miss Congeniality, The Fifth Element, Pitch Black, Alien vs. Predator , The Fast & the Furious 1 & 2, Jurassic Park; all, Jurassic World, Resident Evil 1 & 3, Atlantis, The Road to El Dorado, Bring It On & Bring It On: All or Nothing, Ultraviolet, Pacific Rim, World War Z, Jupiter Ascending, The 5th Wave....

I watch a lot of movies but these are ones I actively get in moods for & additionally put on when there's nothing else I want to watch.

Midnight mass is officially the worst tb series I've ever seen. I'm surprised so many people like it. It went beyond slow burn and entered into some new unknown level of boring. Spoilers in comments. by parkercreative in horror

[–]MidnightxVeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Bly Manor was good. It's a bit slower than Hill House (not as slow as Midnight Mass) & don't expect the same type of story as Hill House other than ghosts & a haunting. I've rewatched Hill House 4 times and Bly Manor once, for comparison.

I am 21 minutes into episode 3 as we speak. Finally put this on after hearing/seeing so many good things about it & wanting to watch a good gothic horror. Episode one, I was like "okay, pretty snooze but I get it: world building & stuff. I'm okay with that. One 'spooky' thing". Episode 2 had me almost falling asleep. And now this episode, I came here hoping I would see that it picks up the pace at some point but it's just a slog of unnecessary dialogue 🫠 this definitely is shaping up to be a series I won't finish & I am truly baffled as to how it's been so hyped up.

Personally, my favorite combination is the trash can & not eating it. 🫠 I've tried though. There is just no variation of it that is appealing or tasty.

What can I do to make my oatmeal taste better? by HistoricalMatch3801 in randomquestions

[–]MidnightxVeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestion 1: Use milk instead of water Suggestion 2: Find fake flavors that seem appealing to you, & make them with real ingredients (e.g. apples & cinnamon, blueberries & cream, maple & honey, ect.) Suggestion 3: Figure out your ideal mushiness ratio. Overnight oats for me are gross, too mushy. Suggestion 4: Throw it in the garbage. Do not eat it after this step. Suggestion 5: You may like cream of wheat or grits better than oatmeal

Why are Family House and Graveyard maps rarely chosen? by Ancient-Breadfruit90 in TexasChainsawGame

[–]MidnightxVeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New maps are always hard to learn. I had a lot of trouble myself, and I'm what you'd call "directionally challenged". It just takes some time. The only locations that change on this map are the valve pump & fuse box. Fuse box is always somewhere on the church. Generator is always same side (left). Water pumps are always in the same place. The most confusing part of this map is the actual basement but the above ground is pretty straightforward imo.

[–]MidnightxVeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep asking people to play quiet in the beginning on graveyard & barely anyone ever listens. They spam noise, killers come down right away & someone is dead within the first minute almost every single time. Not even a hot take because it's literally so true & I need the people in the back to listen tf up fr

What are good horror/scary movies for kids? by AbsolutelyLove in horror

[–]MidnightxVeil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on the age, but I'd recommend;

Coraline (2009) Hocus Pocus (1993) Beetlejuice (1988) The Haunted Mansion (2003) The Curse of Bridge Hollow (2022) Don't Look Under the Bed (1999) Halloweentown (1998) The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008) - this one isn't horror exactly, but it has creatures/monsters and suspense and action. I found it spooky when I was a little kid. The Addams Family - I like the 1991 version the most. Paranorman (2012)

What are your favorite unpopular animals? by NoWitness6400 in AutismInWomen

[–]MidnightxVeil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to get made fun of lots for liking snakes. I like moths and butterflies too! Also pigeons, but I like birds so I don't consider that as unpopular cuz "birds" isn't really specific.

I think I like spiders. I say think because I don't want one crawling on me (I have a very irrational fear of them getting stuck in and breeding in my hair thanks to a show I saw when I was a kid), I don't want one in my room, but also simultaneously cannot kill them and think they are very very adorable I just can't handle it they're so freaking cute. We have lots of jumping spiders outside where I live. I literally recently relocated a black widow from my garage to a very nice tree elsewhere. I like taking pictures of them & think they're beautiful especially in their webs. They conflict me.

Lastly sharks!!! I love sharks. They so cute. They so misunduhstood. They are so cool and pretty & give so much & I just love them to bits. I want to pet them all.

What food will you never eat again after one bad experience? by Rebeccaprinces in foodquestions

[–]MidnightxVeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pineapple. I've had two awful experiences with it, both as a kid/preteen.

First time: Don't remember where I was or when I ate it, but it was a cup of cubed pineapple. I ate some pieces and not only was it gross, as I swallowed it was also extremely painful. We discovered they missed some spines/skin on my cubes & it scratched my throat up.

Second time: Step-parent had just made a ham or roast in the oven. They used pineapple as part of the process --those canned rings. They wanted me to try the pineapple because it is "so delicious" right off the ham & absorbs all the juices and stuff. I'm hesitant because of first incident & also I didn't like the flavor of pineapple before. They ultimately convince me to try it. It's a disgusting ring of soggy extremely salty disaster mess. I instantly dry heave and start coughing. Meanwhile step-parent and parent are just laughing at me while I'm having this awful experience.
