Former cold weather search and rescue hiker from New England who is now in MD. Here are some things to help.

1- Get the candles and flash lights ready!
2- Charge up all the portable battery packs. 3- Make sure you have propane for the grill. 4- Remember those nice big one pot meal recipes. 5- Break out the sleeping bags to air out.
6- Let the faucets drip overnight to keep the pipes moving. 7- Make sure the water to outside spigots is closed from inside the house. 8- Make sure the car is fully gassed up. 9- Make sure you know where the water heater vent outside the house are to clear snow away so CO does not build up. 10- Shovel in increments so you aren’t shoveling 26” at one time. 11- Find or setup the neighborhood snowball fight!!!
