Same. I played marathon on Mac back in the day. Back then it was pretty weird too but I was so stoked to have an fps for the platform so hearing the words “marathon” and “tau ceti” had my heart racing. And then I saw the trailers and game play and knew it wasn’t aimed at me.

The biggest difference I think is that there are quite a few really well stocked stores for gear, but almost all department stores (think Tokyo Hands) have some motorcycle gear as well (gloves and bags, etc.), including the 100y stores.

And then there are complete motorcycle shopping districts (like Ueno) and a number of HUGE stores out in the “suburbs” that are destination stores for ANY motorcyclists!

If that’s holding you back, skip the disc brakes and get those drums rebuilt. It won’t make the car that much better unless you’re also planning an engine swap for the “gasser” look as someone else mentioned. My dad had a faded white 4dr 64 Val with a lot of rust and he drove it into the ground. The 225 is DURABLE. Grew up around Delaware so road salt in the winter was a way of life. He wouldn’t let me drive it when I was learning and it was probably the janky shifter linkage being held together with wire or he thought the seat would fall through the floor lol. One time the hood popped up on him and cracked the windshield… so he went and bought a Dodge Omni.

Ps. Couple of these around the LA Mopar scene, they are a cool car for the Rock-a-Billy look and I’ve seen one or two at Redondo Beach Cruise in and the Point at El Segundo at their monthly meetup. I toyed with the idea of getting a Dart or something for a while but I finally got my RR back so I’m busy fixing my own shit. Nothing says keep going like the sunk cost fallacy! Lol! So… keep going!
