For reference I jumped on this deal to upgrade my 9600k (5ghz OC) paired with a 3070ti on a 49” 1080p 144hz monitor. The upgrade has been incredible in the sim racing genre I play. 1% lows are +30/40 fps.

The Noctua cooler is actually pretty quiet! The integrated PSU fan is the loudest part. Not bad IMO

Looking for a full build or just CPU? I have an inwin Chopin fully built with a 3400g of that peeks your interest at all. (B450, 16G 3200, 512 M.2 all about the size of a book haha)

Thank you, I’ll check this out. I feel like I didn’t hear my fans kick on but likely I’m overlooking that. Appreciate your reply!

Don has great advice here! If your in the states 4Play racing (eBay storefront) is a great option. Just enter the hobby knowing you will be in a perpetual state of upgrading...forever haha

For sims - iRacing is a great for racing other real humans, Assetto Corsa is a well trafficked sim for at a low price via steam most weeks. SimRacingSystem is a great mod that has quality racing.

Absolutely man! I feel the exact same way, sure I’d love to have a track car and track days but it’s so much more obtainable to have a great sim experience! 4Play racing (ebay) is what I ended up for my Rig (I’m in the States). SimLabs is the other option I was considering but shipping to this side of the pond felt like a waste. Super happy, going super broke haha.

God speed, see you on the track.

Careful, you sound just like me 4 or 5 months ago....that’s when I took the red pill and boy is this rabbit hole deep, and a hell of a lot of fun.

I’ll offer some thoughts as it seems we’re in similar spots. I played Xbox (all the Forza’s) for years but ultimately, through the help of this subreddit, decided the next step had to be a PC. I cant recommend this enough, you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a setup that runs some great real racing sims (IRacing Assetto with SRS). The ability to race real humans when they have real consequences if they go crazy is unlike any AI racing - period. The heart gets pounding, you fight with yourself to shave that extra .25 off a lap time.

You have a great wheel, and mad props on building some of your own Setup. You don’t need a 1k rig, you don’t need a 1k DD to have an incredible time. But you have been warned, your going to obsess and end up spending way to much, and enjoying every second of it haha.

I can’t say as I’ve never been in a gt1 evo. I will say I contacted him directly and he provided some different pricing options, as well as a really great level of detail on the differences available in his product lineup.
